The file I am working with has art boards. When I copy and paste individual art boards and their contents into a new AD document and then delete the art board, I can then do both a save as command and a .pdf export. This rescues the work for now but defeats the use of art boards. Thanks for your input. Cheers

Hi There Affinity Designer seems to be having problems with both exporting to .pdf and using the Save As command. I get the error messages attached below. 1. The output folder could not be created when doing a save as... 2. There is a limit of 31 characters in the file name. This one is strange as I nearly always have file names longer than 31 characters... Any ideas how I can both solve these problems or rescue the work? Cheers

Hi all. Just trying to understand copy and paste behaviour in Affinity Designer. 1. I have two separate layers. Layer 1 has some text I want to copy and paste to layer 2. 2. I highlight the text items in layer 1 then use the short cut Command C to copy. 3. I choose an new empty layer and use the short cut command V. I expect to see the text appear in layer 2, NOT as new top level layers... I end up having to drag the text items into layer 2. Am I not thinking correctly about this copy and paste process? Thanks for your help.

I have been using Affinity Designer to design and make simple labels for a variety of products. These are my latest.

Hi Folks... I have asked this question on the apple support forum but have not received any guidance. I thought I would try here... I have been using AD on an iMac in my office. I was sent a font set by another designer to complete some work, successfully loaded it on to my iMac, and got the job done. I have since acquired a Macbook Air which I also use AD on while out of the office. I would like to get or copy or move?? the above mentioned font set from my iMac to my MacBook Air. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance.

Needing this feature at the moment. It would save me a decent amount of time, help with project organisation and save paper clutter. Hope to see this soon.

I actually don't know! They printed on to a vinyl (the stuff they use for sign writing cars etc). They have several machines and don't know which one they used. They have finished up for the christmas break but can find out the details once holidays are over. Cheers

I searched high and low for a Hello Kitty sticker for one of my kids cars for Christmas. Could not find one anywhere. So I did a quick drawing in Affinity Designer and had our printer sneak it into a last minute job. :D

Hi mudbug32. As noted in my original post, the issue is not the contents of the file, but the same exact file created in 1.3x gets a much bigger .pdf when opened and exported in 1.4. I actually don't remember the exact export options chosen in 1.3 (I think there was only one choice to make and that had to to with rasterising text), but as also noted, there is a range of new options for .pdf export in 1.4. I just went with the option for print. I am thinking that in 1.3x, the presence of an image file in the artwork is dealt differently than it is in 1.4. Coincidental to the scenario above, I exported to .pdf a simple all vector file and got a wickedly small file size. So my guess is that in 1.4 the presence of an image file in the artwork makes the difference.... Cheers
