You can already do gradients in strokes.  Use the fill tool, and on the context toolbar change the context to "Stroke".

I wonder if it would make sense to make this indeed the default behavior when deleting a node …

    Hi!

It would be awesome to have an option that keeps shapes' curvature when removing nodes.
Currently the node removal reshape the curve.

Could be possible to link such a behaviour to a modifier such as SHIFT, maybe?

I've had the Huion H610 Pro for a while now and I'm happy with it.  It's a good little table for the price.

LilleG reacted to Madame in [ADe] Is there any line smoothing? (implemented)
I find that when I have a bumpy line I select the nodes in the bumps and delete them. Then it's easier to smooth the lines afterwards.
But a real smooth line tool/action/menu would be very welcome!

I completely agree. I have to set my laptop screen to exactly the correct angle if I'm to have any hope of seeing which tool is currently highlighted (or perhaps that should be 'lowlighted'). It would be great to have the simple 'Invert' option that Julian23 suggested earlier in this thread.

The only way that I can get enough contrast in the UI toolbar to actually see which tool icon is selected is to turn UI Gamma all the way up in Affinity Preferences AND to turn Brightness all the way up in System Preferences.  Black on dark gray is not the best choice for visibility.

LilleG got a reaction from Sunset in Why isn't there a gallery to show works done by users?
Yes.  A gallery would be great.  Most of us have limited time to spend in the forum and it would be nice to be able to visit the work being done by other members without all the tedious clicking and scrolling, especially when often the only new thing in the topic is a new comment on previously viewed work.

Not only drawing... Imagine there a quick set of Healing tools, Inpaining etc.

Or (better) controls such as brush size, saturation of the colour you're using on the Y axis and lightness on the X axis...
You don't need precision if there are few controls there and live feedbacks.
If you have an Apple TV and relative iOS Remote App you can understand what I mean.

Obviously for some specific tasks you need to look at your iPhone screen (as far as you need to look at your Studio palette) with the advantage that your screen is free from controls and you could focus on your tasks easier.

Btw it is a well know ux approach, close to the one Wacom decided to follow for its Cintiq27 and ExpressKey Remote

Obviously the absence of tactile feedback is a limit, but some scenarios could be covered easily, maybe?

    :)

    I mean something like this

on your iPhone while using AP full screen for example..
So a full access to panels, colour selectors, presets, adjustments... Anything you need.

    Imagine this scenario:
You are retouching with your classic desktop and change HSL using the iphone, keeping your eyes on the whole picture instead of the floating palette.

At least this is how I'd like to use it in a professional context  :)

Almost every creative app does have a gallery reachable from their website to show off the works done by it's users. Why not Affinity?

If you want to browse works done by users, you have to register and check the share your work section. As a visitor i wouldn't bother tbh. This should be made easy.

I browse the forum as a guest quite often, only sign in when posting, so it affects me as user as well.

    What do you think?

+1 for the Option to have a lighter color for the UI and also for an option for larger icons.  My older eyes no longer do dark and fiddly that well.  And I agree with Scott Dutton that a neutral gray gives you a much better idea of color values.

    Hi,

AP 1.5 beta is coming - in a couple of weeks or so.. here are a few of the things we can look forward to:

    - HDR merging.
    - HDR toning.
    - Full 32bit unbounded linear editing, including (correct) OpenEXR, Radiance support.
    - Focus merging.
    - Live Projections (edit in perspective projection, equirectangular projection).
    - Macro recording and playback gallery.
    - Batch processing.
    - Layer linking.
    - Magnetic selection tool.
    - Polygonal selection tool.
    - Ability to round-trip PSD (for use with DAM applications).

    - Lots of small improvements.

    Hope this helps,

    Andy.

LilleG reacted to manu schwendener in AP: make the inpainting brush the default of that group
Those are good solutions - but my focus is on the first time users. They must have seen / heard about the inpainting brush (or they wouldn't ask about it), but then can't find it when they open AP.

Affinity Photo still has to improve a lot in the mask/channels department.
It is one of the most important subjects for professionals and, as it is now, is not as intuitive as in Photoshop.

In photoshop filters and other dialogs remember your last used settings, even after a restart.  This is such a time saver.  For example, document resize (where I would never want the default "nearest neighbour") or sharpen where I usually want roughly the same settings after an image resize sharpen.

    Thanks.

    Hi Gord,
Open the first image as usual, then drag the second from the Finder to the canvas. The image will be added as a new layer. You can then use the menu Arrange ▸ Align Middle and Arrange ▸ Align Center to position it exactly over the original one.

JFisher -  it helps if you don't mind working in Separated mode, which is not my case.

So I'm still wondering whether this is by design? Or you're planning an option to hide it in non-separated mode?

It's a bit puzzling that you can literally hide every other UI group individually, except the one which is relatively least useful.

I panicked over this one also.  Even though I too had run across it in the past, and failed to remember what to do about it!  Maybe there could be a "reminder" included in the update notice for us scatterbrains?
