  1. Uh, what and where is the Floor Select Tool, please? Prolly just me, but it's a term I'm not familiar with.
  2. In History, when you apply an Effect (for example) it tells you that an Effect has been applied and shows some parameters but it does not specify which effect. They all say "Set Effect Enabled/Disabled." The parameters give a bit more information as in "Set Effect Radius." When you're looking in History for a particular effect to either adjust or remove, it helps if they are identified.
  3. Please add more contrast in several parts of the UI. Dark Gray on Black sucks for those of us with older eyes or less than perfect vision. One should not have to squint and peer to determine what tool/function, etc is active at any given moment. Otherwise, the app is a joy to use and should only get better once everything is implemented and working as intended.
  4. It would benefit those of us with older eyes if the highlighting behind the active tool could be increased. It's very hard for me to tell by looking which one I have selected.
  5. When I click on Tones>Curves in Develop after loading a RAW image, only the top 1/4 to 1/3 of the adjustment area is visible. Closed the program and restarted several times to make sure it was not just a one-off. Opens the same way every time. I can move the white node but anything not showing is frozen.
  6. MEB, what was weird about it was that the MAS version was installed the whole time. No problem with your instructions. Or with those from the beta itself. It would automatically send me to the App Store, which would tell me that MAS was installed. (I kinda' felt like a gerbil on a wheel there for a bit.) There may have been a glitch during the download of the beta (I did do it over one more time just before it worked.) Or a temporary hiccup in my system (I've had a few of those.) Anyway, it's working now. And the Color/Swatches panel works as expected in the beta, still quirky in my MAS. Thanks for all your help.
  7. MEB, I finally got the beta to open up. After umpteen tries and a new download of the beta. And the Color/Swatches/Brushes panels all perform as they should in the beta, so it's just something quirky in this particular install of MAS. As I said earlier, it's not really a problem since I have a work-around.
  8. I HATE Mountain Lion! (Just recently upgraded from SnowLeopard, which was a joy to use, mostly so I could run Affinity Designer) Mountain Lion is one odd quirk and missing or moved function after another. I had downloaded and played with the 1.0.21861 Beta. I just now downloaded the 1.1.2 Beta, which tells me it can't run without a purchased version on hand....WT?? And quits and directs me to the App Store. On top of that, I pulled the Beta 1.0.2 back out of the trash and now it tells me the same thing. I'm going to go away for a while now. There's a wall in my house that needs some head banging!
  9. I'm using AD 1.1.2 in Mountain Lion (10.8.5.) It's not really critical (for me at least) now that I've found a work-around but it did seem odd.
  10. At least, it seems weird to me. Once I have clicked on Colour, when I next click on Swatches ALL I can see is the Category title. But if I then click on Brushes and then come back and click on Swatches again, all the swatches are visible. It's not a one-time thing; happens every time. Drove me nuts till I realized that I could get the swatches to show up again by clicking on Brushes and then back to Swatches. Is this a bug or have I just got something weird going on in my system? (Wouldn't be the first time.)
  11. Thanks. It seemed like the possibility should be there but I couldn't find it.
  12. Am I overlooking something glaringly obvious or is there no way to fill a layer with color other than using the Fill/Gradient tool to fill a layer-sized rectangle?
  13. Thanks for the MAS update, Chris. It's a lovely set!
  14. The gradients look lovely. I've downloaded them but where and how do I Import them? Unzipped them. Tried import Palette in Swatches/Gradients. Got an "Incompatible File" error. Since others are having no trouble, I'm obviously doing something wrong. Help? Please?
  15. +1 for a loupe tool. It's incredibly handy.
  16. Thank you both! JordanWade for requesting and Dale for implementing. It's much better now.
  17. +1 for the Option to have a lighter color for the UI and also for an option for larger icons. My older eyes no longer do dark and fiddly that well. And I agree with Scott Dutton that a neutral gray gives you a much better idea of color values.
  18. Oh, thank you. I'm new to Affinity Designer (purchased in late Dec.) and I'm in the process of learning to use it. I'm watching the tutorial videos now and I'm amazed at how helpful the program is designed to be to the user. So many little "helpers" built in that will make it an absolute joy to use.
  19. I'm running Affinity Designer in Mountain Lion (10.8.5) which does not have iBooks. Can I get Affinity Review on my iPad in iOS 7? If not, is there, or will there be, a PDF version of Affinity Review for those of us with older systems?
  20. I'm a long time Mac user. Been looking for a replacement for Illustrator (which I never quite learned to use well) and recently for iDraw, which is a nice little program but doesn't offer nearly as many seriously handy features as Affinity Designer. Just bought Designer and I'm looking forward to exploring all the features and learning to use it to the max. Uh...what do I do? I'm a retired housewife (if such a thing exists) and a painter/designer for personal pleasure.
