  1. I would be happy if I could create a Macro that would just let me activate Resize Canvas, set the Anchor (center), set the format? (inches) and open the lock. But once Resize Canvas is active, I can no longer access the Macro function to stop recording. Oh well, maybe we will eventually have "sticky settings" for all user options and that will no longer be needed.
  2. Oh wow, Paolo. You've done it again. Those are fantastic. The acrylics are gonna' be my favorite brushes for a while.
  3. Love it! Love it! Thank you guys for listening, and caring about, and addressing the needs of all of us.
  4. Wow! Ordered my copy of Affinity Designer Workbook Monday and it was delivered today! Talk about fast delivery! Looking forward to getting started with it.
  5. As a matter of personal taste :), I prefer the original post. The edit has lost some of the texture and crispness of the snow and ice.
  6. Okay then. I won't waste any more time trying to make it do something it wasn't designed for. Thanks for the explanation.
  7. Is there any way to have it retain the expression then? Or should I just forget about Macros being useful in this context? Surely there is a way to record a Macro to do away with a scut-work process that I repeat with every photo I finish. What am I overlooking?
  8. Rats! I'm familiar with the Lighting Filter. I was hoping for something easier to use with individual brush strokes. (Still hoping for something similar to Corel Painter's lovely oil brushes, etc)
  9. Hmmm, what I really expected was for the macro to remember the process, not the result. I don't really want to repeat the exact result; I want to repeat the process in order to continue to expand the canvas as I add multiple borders.
  10. I’m trying to record a macro that will resize the canvas from the center by adding a specified amount on each side. Started Recording: Used my shortcut for Resize Canvas Clicked on Center for the Anchor Clicked on the Lock to open it Clicked in the right side of the width box and entered +1.5 Clicked in the right side of the height box and entered +1.5 Clicked on Resize Stopped Recording: Saved to Library And when I click on it in the Library, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? What am I not understanding about the process?
  11. Did you create the brush/es used in this? If so, I'd love to know how you got the deep textures.
  12. I've done pretty much the same thing, Stickman. Not quite as detailed as yours but I like having the videos offline and instantly accessible. Some things are worth a little work.
  13. In the Menu bar, select View>Studio then scroll all the way to the bottom and select Reset Studio. That will put everything back the way it was before you changed anything. If that doesn't fix it, let us know.
  14. Lack of contrast has always been the problem for many of us, not the dark UI per se, which I happen to think is quite beautiful. User-adjustable contrast (much more than is currently allowed) would solve the problem for me. But without that, I'm eagerly looking forward to the light UI.
  15. I'm assuming that the lighter UI would be an option on APhoto as well? And hopefully at the same time?
  16. I've been begging for a Destructive Crop since I bought APhoto. An inches ruler with user-selected increments would be so nice. A Resize that remembered the last used settings would be fantastic. Let's hope that at least some if not all of your suggestions will be implemented.
  17. Wow! Or as my daughter would say, Holy WOW! That is some mind-blowing realism.
  18. Oh good! That would be lovely. Nah, that's too mild a word. That would be wonderful! :)
  19. Is "tablespoonful" even a legitimate measurement? All mine simply say Tablespoon. And if it isn't full, it isn't a Tablespoon. :)
  20. I am defending the status quo because I believe it is the best solution for the most users. And I do not think that it is the developers who are being lazy.
  21. Consider this. Suppose Affinity decided to create defaults for each effect but the default they chose was different from what you wanted to apply. How would deleting the default and entering your preference be any quicker or easier for you than just entering your choice to begin with? :)
  22. I like the composition of the bird on a branch with the ducks surrounding it. Nice feather detail on the anhinga.
