guide lines lag behind rotate design

I know it doesn't truly rotate it but it does make working on a design that's rotated 90 degrees a lot easier. And I am still waiting for a decent way to actually rotate the design including guide lines etc but it doesn't seem to have a high priority as I haven't heard a positive response back on me suggesting that functionality, ages ago by now I'm going to try the beta, thx :-)
  3. I use the latest Designer (1.6.1) on the latest MacOS (10.14.2) and I use guide lines in my design. In this example, I've made a design to be printed directly on wood, on my self built custom printer, I rotate the design because that's easier to work on screen and as you can see, rotation is not very user friendly in my case as a rotate 90 degrees would be easier but that's perhaps a matter of taste and the problem I'd like to address is that when I rotate a design, the guide lines that I use, lag behind when rotating and the lag is so great that it's a bit ridiculous. https://youtu.be/_6F0xSi5KCU btw the white areas above and below in my design are there because those are beyond the edges of the piece of wood that I will print on and I keep m white so I don't waste ink as white is a colour my printer doesn't print in it's current state. I prepare a piece of wood with a transparent layer of white wash before printing on it when it suits the design.

    Sinhala tekst handled oddly?

So whats the status on fixing this bug? I tried Quark 2018 to see how it works as I didn't report this bug just for the fun of it but because I need the functionality and it had the same bug. Quark however fixed it when I reported it but as anyone that has ever use Quark possibly knows, it's horrible!

    Sinhala tekst handled oddly?

As they’ve stated they’ll work on a fix, that would imply a bug ;-)

    Sinhala tekst handled oddly?

Interestingly, Quark 2018 has the same issue so how cool qould it be if Affinity has a fix before Quark ;-) All other apps I tried so far, don't have the issue. Sinhala Sangam MN.ttc

    Sinhala tekst handled oddly?

I understand that there isn't a quick fix and that it can be complicated and I'm not asking for a promise but for commitment to solve this issue, if we agree that it should be solved, within a reasonable time. In the mean time, I design flyers and posters for our foundation ( https://yworks.org/en/ ) and I can't design them in Sinhala due to this bug. What do you suggest? Because as I understand that fixes cost time, alternatives cost money.

    Sinhala tekst handled oddly?

Improving over time? And what does that mean? To me this clearly seems to be a bug and 'over time' sounds like this can take a year to fix and actually more as it's completely non specific.

    Sinhala tekst handled oddly?

Hi all, I'm trying to write Sinhala in Designer and whilst I see the text coreectly in Pages and Notes, it's wrong in Designer. I've addes a screenshot so you can see and it doesn't matter if I use a specific Sinhala font or not, this is what happens. Anyone? Am I doing something wrong?

    EPS export lacks transparency

Thx for the swift response. So no bugs but correct implementation of limited standards I guess:-) I've found a reasonable matching for SVG so the fuchsia pink shirts with that design will be available in time for the event I need them for:-)

    EPS export lacks transparency

I created this design to be printed on several t-shirts and as you can see, the background is transparent, around the lady too. When I export to EPS it isn't, when I export to PSD it is so it seems to me like the EPS export isn't functioning correctly. edit: exporting to SVG needs the 'export as curves' setting even when the used font's are on the system or the design is malformed and export to svg leads to wrong colors. Is this a bug too? see second image
  12. Hi all, when I design something in Designer, wether it's an Artboard or not, when I want to rotate is from portrait to landscape or the other way around, I have to do it in steps with the 'rotate left' or 'rotate right' menu option and the most irritating thing is that when a design is rotated, elements that are newly added likt text, are nog in the same orientation as the design now is. Besides this very strange way of working which does not seem intuitive at all to me, it would be nice to work on multi page documents in Designer. Will rotating a design like from portrait to landscape or the other way around become more intuitive? And will Designer be able to create multi page documents (a flyer, magazine etc)

    Designer 1.5.5 save no go!

Hi, I use Affinity Designer 1.5.5 and noticed that saving my work results in hours of hours looking at a save dialog, not saving a file. Export does the same. No high cpu usage, it's not hanging. This sucks, help. Macbook Pro retina mid 2014, 13", core i5 latest MacOS (10.12.5)
  14. I answered the version Q and by now it's 1.5.4 with the same issue. A full 90 degree rotation of a design in every aspect is too much to ask for I gather? The way Affinity Designer works now it seems using it is replacing non intuitive working software with other non intuitive working software;-)

    Media browser in Affinity Photo

oops, that's a disappointment. It may be a media browser but inadequate when one has a lot of photographs and slow. Is any improvement expected? This will not lure me from Lightroom to AP.
