Hi, Thanks both for your messages… as walt.farrell said I ment "choose a layer to show" when placed a design/photo in a publisher document… I thought I used it in "the past". (I'm quite struggling replacing my efficient CS6 workflow with AF publisher etc…) I don't like very much using "embedded images" and much prefer "linked images" so it's less versioning of multiples alternatives… but I guess I have to change my way of doing things maybe...

Hi, just to mention the bug below for the current AF Pub 1.10.1 OSX version, I use it al lot and it has some bugs. Thanks !
-
Hi I also confirm this zoom out bug with "spacebar cmd alt" issue on AF Pub 1.10.1 (Mac osx) However It does not append to all documents… My first guess is in this document i use different pages with different sizes so it looks like the zoom shortcut does not understand where to go when you use "alt" option see video below and on file attached AF_Pub_zoom_issue-osx.mp4 AF_Pub_zoom_issue-osx.afpub

Hi I would like to have those two settings "by default" for each new documents from presets (or not)… (see screenshots below) I cannot find how ? Can I edit the existing default presets or should I create new ones ? It also seems that sometimes those settings are changing without no reason… I would be nice to have a common synced setting for all three apps (with the colour profile setting of course) Thanks a lot ! (Mac OSX HS 10.13.6 / AF 1.10.1)

Hi, i'm getting crazy looking for the option to choose which layer from a placed/linked affinity designer (or photo) file is displayed once placed in my Publisher document. I was quite sure i've used it previously... or do i simply mixed up with the ability to choose which artboard is imported (e.g. when you place a multiple artboard designer document), Is it gone or it was never there ? I use this option on everyday basis in Adobe CS6… with placed .ai or .psd documents Thanks ! (Mac OSX 10.13.6, AF 1.10.1)

Thanks for sharing this, I'm always looking for such tools

Agree ! I was/am still confused is when you have multiple artboards… Sometimes the 'backspace key' works to delete slices, sometimes it does not and delete the artboard itself (certainly because somes slices are linked to it's artboard, but others created with the artboard tool are not ?). Hopefully, I hope will remember those next time I reopen an old projet...

Improved Swatches Panel
sbgraphic replied to Mark Oehlschlager's topic in Feedback for Affinity Designer V1 on Desktop
Hi Agree with most all theses comments… I'm going crazy trying to find a simpler way to use overprint properly... did not find one, and had to use transparency instead, not good at all. Finally gave up and back in AI CS6 to do that for multiple vectors logos. Ticking a box for this function is much-much simpler… Thanks in advance for improving this. All the best. -
Hello, Don't know it was already discussed but "global colors overprint" does not work as expected when exporting in PDF-X4 with placed linked vector files containing global colours using overprint. It looks like when a another design is linked, it does not take into consideration those global colors, even if this global color is 100% black. I cannot export cmyk pdf file properly for prepress this way (I'm using linked designs a lot…) Am I doing something wrong here ? Any comment would be appreciated. Attached is a simple example for demonstration. Thx Mac OSX 10.13.x with Designer 1.8.6 or 1.9.0 Affinity_design_k-overprint_issue.zip

Inserting screenshots will result in different color profiles
sbgraphic replied to Rici's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Hello, Happy New Year to everyone ! To me it does not look like a bug, because you don't use the same profile in your iMac settings as in the Affinity App settings. You should use the exact same icc profile to avoid those shift and preview app is not a reference at all for me, as is use the default iMac settings. In the screenshot example #1 (iMac Display Color Profile) and screenshot #3 (Affinity colours settings) you should use: sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as RGB Colour Profile in both settings (or any other same profile that suits your needs). 'sRGB IEC61966-2.1' is not the same as 'RGB' (iMac). More info about colour management on many site like these two ones: https://www.colourmanagement.net/advice/about-icc-colour-profiles/ https://www.color-management-guide.com Hope it helps, Best, Eric -
Hi, I order to present some design project exported in pdf for customers, I generally import/link some selected artboard from various Designer files into Publisher (i'm doing that a lot with the late CS suite). This way any modifications during the projet process is updated accordingly. Not sure if such isssue has been mention. However I had to redo this procedure a lot because links in publisher did not work as expected and had al lot of troubles to update them when designer files were modified. They did not update all the times, specially when you change document more than once. I should mention that the page where I import such artboards are mainly empty image bloc on one master page and text bloc on another master page, applied both to all page of the documents. Steps to reproduce the issue, see attached png to illustrate the layer panel (blurred for NDA): Mac osx 10.13.6 / MacPro 3,1 / Publisher 1.8.4 Importing a specific (or multiple) artboard from designer into a publisher file, with master page A and B are applied to the page — OK in Designer, updating the project (ex. changing a simple line of text) — OK Reopening the Publisher file and get the alert from Ressource Manager — OK / The layer panel show the same state — OK Using the Ressource Manager, I clic on update the link — ISSUE The update seems to work but look likes it transform the link into an embedded image, then unable to update or reimport the designer link, worse, it look likes the publisher document gets corrupted, specially when you have multiple page with multiple art board imported from various designer document. Alternatively I tried to drag and drop again the same designer artboard from the finder to the same page/frame and it does not replace it, it duplicate the layer and embed it , the other one cannot be embedded, and the the publisher file gets somehow corrupted as I cannot delete this new embedded layer and the linked is not updated Quite annoying, because then I had to recreate the page every time I updated the designer file during this process... Thank's in advance for your feedback

UI control-clic channel selection issue ?
sbgraphic replied to sbgraphic's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
OK good. I tried the View > Studio > Reset Studio… no success. I'll check later if this same issue append on my New Mac under Mojave as well or not. Best ! -
UI control-clic channel selection issue ?
sbgraphic replied to sbgraphic's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
That said, I've noticed this issue is sometimes there… sometimes not… curiously when I switch back from/to another app I can ctrl-clic correctly on this panel, so it's not consistent. -
UI control-clic channel selection issue ?
sbgraphic replied to sbgraphic's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Hi, maybe i was not clear enough… it' not about renaming any channel on this panel, it's about having the contextual menu behaving correctly. On the layer panel I can Ctrl-Click anyehere on the layer and I see the menu popping up, but on the Channel Panel, it does not seem to behave as it should (On the video you clearly see the user clicking one of the thumbnail of the the spare channel and the menu is popping-up… i cannot do that, the menu does not appear unless i click on the very right border of the panel... -
Hi, when I try to select a Spare Channel (or any other channels) with "Ctrl-Clic" from the View > Studio > Channels Panel, the contextual menu does not appear (nothing append), It only appears if you clic on the very-very right part of the panel... When watching this tutorial, this issue does not appear there https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/photo/desktop/video/334283412/ (Btw Contextual menu on layer panel are fine) Looks like a UI issue ? Nice w-e to everyone ! Mac OSX 10.13 / Affinity Photo 1.8.4 / Mac Pro 3.1

PDF import creates very thin, grey lines / stripes
sbgraphic replied to Jens Krebs's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Hello, You do not indicate the type of pdf you exporting with from indesign, the behavior might be different depending the standard you are using. If you export from indesign as a PDF/X4:2010 standard (which is the standard I generally use for production), I confirm those same thin lines issue when importing. however, if you export from indesign as a PDF/X3:2003 standard, those lines disappear in Affinity Designer (while you can still see them appearing while zooming after import). I believe this is because PDF/X3 flatten all transparency, so it might be a solution to export from indesign in PDF/X3 until this issue is fixed. Maybe some users can confirm — or not — this workaround... Best, Eric PS: Attached two different pdf from indesign CS6 (MacOX 10.11 / Designer 1.8.3) export_test_pdfX3.pdf export_test_pdfX4.pdf -
Exporting file as EPS seems to hang (1.8.3)
sbgraphic replied to tylerdca's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Hi, just to comment effectively my (very) old mac pro tooks 100% processor power and still could not export it after 12 min… I tried to delete the "background group containing the image layer" and it was much better, there is something in that group that causing the issue (not the image itself). But sorry the main reason of my comment is I am curious why still using .eps when .pdf has much more to offer ? I do not use that format since around year 2000... Best to all.
