  1. Just to thank you once again, have now restored the previous version from Time Machine and have both versions now.

I'm afraid my old brain cells are are in need of some rejuvenation, though I'm thinking of reverting back to version 1.6 as have now found that the Nik filters are not compatible with 1.7! How I revert back is another problem of course!!
  4. Am I able to revert back to version affinity photo 1.6 on my Mac, if so how do I go about it? I have no problems with the old version as it suits my limited workflow, especially as the Nik Collection filters don't work with 1.7 and I don't particularly want to pay out for something that is perfectly adequate for me. I'm also having problems with my keyboard shortcuts in this new version. Many thanks
  5. Not sure f I'm being completely stupid or not, but since upgrading to 1.7 I am having trouble assigning keyboard shortcuts? I use the freehand selection tool a great deal and had the letter 'L' assigned to it in the previous version. In version 1.7, if I hover over the freehand selection tool icon it shows the letter (G), if I press "G" it goes to 'create fill' and not Freehand selection tool! Firstly how can I assign my own shortcut to this tool, I am unable to see it in the preferences keyboard shortcut list? And secondly, why is the letter 'G' showing next to this tool when it doesn't appear to relate to it? Thank you
  6. Many thanks John, will give this a go. I have IJ scan utility Lite installed but the programme is next to useless, I have been using the full version on my old scanner which suited my needs but Canon no longer support this on Mac only on Windows! If I'd known this beforehand I would have opted for a different scanner! I'm now forced to purchase extra software to compensate for Canons lack of support! Many thanks once again Chris
  7. Thank you for your replies I am using the 'acquire image' from the affinity file drop down menu, this takes me straight to my Canon scanner via the Mac Image capture window. The scanner operates OK but as soon as the images appear in the affinity window it crashes. This happens with 2 different Canon scanners, an old LiDE 700f and a new Lide 400. The 700f is on its way out and have just received the 400 for Christmas. I normally use the Canon utility to capture images but unfortunately Canon do not now support Mac with any useful software so am forced to use the Mac's image capture. Both scanners have latest drivers and work fine apart from the affinity crashes. There's no problem opening scanned files from other folders. Happy New Year!
  8. Imac 5k, OS Mojave When I acquire images from my 2 canon scanners the images scan with the Mac utility, they momentarily appear in the window then Affinity crashes completely to my desktop, there is no error message? Any ideas please?
  9. Have now self fixed this issue, for some reason the global permissions had changed in the preferences window, it's all working again now! Apologies!
  10. I've just tried to use my free Nik plugin in affinity photo and it's suddenly gone to a purchase prompt, stating that my demo period has 15 days remaining? When I click to continue, Affinity crashes and takes me to my desktop? I have just upgraded my Imac 27" retina to the latest Mojave OS, so not sure if this is the problem. Any idea what the issue might be? Many thanks
  11. This topic has probably already been covered but I can't find an answer! I have just been advised that the Sierra upgrade is available on my Imac with El Capitan but am concerned as to whether or not my Affinity Photo 1.4.3 will still work OK or have any issues? I'm a fairly new Mac user, so even upgrading my Mac is a big step, I'm still wading through my El Capitan manual! I've just about got Affinity set up to my requirements so don't want to go back to square one again. Thank you in advance for any advice.

  13. Hello again, just an update I have now managed to purchase Affinity, there is an intermittent problem with my Network. But now have another query I'm afraid! When I made the purchase it downloaded a new programme but the trial version is still in my Apps and will not delete from my mac Launchpad, any idea how I remove it? Thank you
  14. I have just found the link in the Apps store, though it's a little different to your screenshot, it shows a box with the price displayed I had to double click it to give the option of paying! Unfortunately it comes up with the message that it can't connect to the servers host? Hopefully this is just a temporary glitch in the system?
