I have just found actually, that yes you're correct - Gradients and layers with less than 100% opacity rasterise them.
Having said that, I just opened up our logo, which has a gradient on it, exported to PDF and it preserved everything vector perfectly.
Hmm...

Hello Axiski,
Welcome to Affinity Forums.
Can you post the file to be looked at?
You're probably using some effects, a gradient type or something similar not supported in PDF which forces the rasterisation.
Hi thanks, the file is in here: click

Hello,
Firstly, Affinity Designer is amazing, so thanks!!
I have an issue though, hopefully a solvable one.
I import one of my AI files, edit it and export to PDF so it can be sent to the printers. For some reason, it doesn't retain it's ''vector-ness'' - IE when viewing the PDF at 100%, it's all pixelated.
I must be going wrong somewhere in the settings, as I did a test. I created a new document, made a few shapes, exported to PDF and opened in Photoshop at a ridiculously high resolution and the quality at 100% zoom is flawless. When I do that with my original document, 100% zoom is all pixelated..
So - Where am I going wrong here?
Thanks.

Thats fine thanks. At least I know it wasn't me doing something wrong. I can now adjust the files accordingly.
