[By Design] Smooth copy/paste cropped element
SailorMax replied to SailorMax's topic in (Pre 1.7) Windows resolved threads
I missed this. Then problem in Context menu of "Zoom" tool. It has not "Actual size" option... -
Steps: press "Print Screen" Affinity Designer / File / New from Clipboard Crop part of screenshot Edit / Copy File / New from Clipboard Expected: Crisp copy of cropped document Actual: Smooth copy of cropped document Tested on: Affinity Designer 1.6.5.123 (Windows 10) source_document.afdesign result.afdesign

Based on CPU usage you both made "initial preview": - you both show image in 4 vs 14 seconds ("time to show"). - and you both open the complete file in 14 vs 52 seconds ("time to finish open").
-
SailorMax started following Memory/CPU optimizations

Tried to open few ARW files at once, but Affinity Photo tried to open them too slow (I waited few minutes and has to kill it). For test tried to open only one photo and compare result with Photoshop: Affinity Photo 1.6.0.89: - init used memory after cold start = 184MB - time to show = 14 seconds - time to finish open = 52 seconds - used memory = 1,268MB Photoshop CC 2015: - init used memory after cold start = 143MB - time to show = 4 seconds - time to finish open = 14 seconds - used memory = 489MB Sample attached to this post. Try to make 10x duplicates with different names and drag them all to Affinity Photo... In result on my system currently I can work with Photoshop, but not with Affinity Please, optimize your product. System: - CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8200 @ 2.66GHz - GPU: Geforce GT 240 - Memory: 4GB - Free space on disk: 50GB - OS: Windows 10 1709 b16299.19 _DSC6435.ZIP

[Fixed] Very slow file opening
SailorMax replied to SailorMax's topic in (Pre 1.7) Windows resolved threads
Retest with PNG. Same result - 4 seconds (after cold start). Second open - 3 seconds. Anyway too slow for such a simple small file. -

Why regular JPEG files opens so long? Affinity Designer 1.5.1 ~ 1 second Affinity Photo 1.5.0 ~ 4 seconds XNView viewer ~0.5 seconds Sample image was attached to this post: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/30982-affinity-photo-library-macros-dialogs-over-screen/

Tone mapping / Priestley = Flip Horizontal Tone mapping / Cream = Flip Vertical Is it ok? Or bug?

Can you add support Russian UI? My dad don't know English, but need Photoshop or alternative editor ;)
