brunovinhas got a reaction from Kristof in Web designer code savvy tool
An excellent app add-on to the Affinity graphic suite would be a web or app designer code savvy tool like Macaw, Adobe Muse or like the on-line apps webflow and silex. But with more options to edit the code than the apps that I mention.
Macaw is a great tool, unfortunately the team behind the Macaw joined InVision and the app was discontinued with a lot of features that could be improved.

Isn't it working? All it takes is to place your text cursor on a line so the cursor changes, and then just type. Are you perhaps using the artistic text tool instead of the textbox tool?

How do you know it doesn't stand for Computer Disk? You trying to rationalize my intelligence or something? (Kidding)

The screen shots are identified by the initial two letters 'CD' as well...
But, CD hasn't changed its interface tools too much over the last few versions--with the exception of being flatter icons and certainly with X8, fairly colorless.
The break text is a handy command and I do use it frequently enough that I agree it would be handy in AD.

I remember when CorelDraw X7 came out, it had a brand new look. Plus, I am into UI layouts. (I create my own.) :D
From the topics and feedback I've already read on this forum, I believe Affinity will stay lightweight and use only the most needed tools like you described. Even though all feedback is heard, requests for unrelated vector features like animation, RAW image support, and inpainting has been disregarded. And I agree if Affinity is trying to stay within a certain range, they should just follow the necessary features that make up what the program was designed for. Get it? If there are any suggestions on improving the work of vector editing and graphic designing, then I think it's worth being heard, whether they're added or not. I haven't heard of the feature you requested before, but I think it could come handy for others who use that approach in their workflow.
So you are looking into dividing a paragraph of text so each line is a separate text path that can be retyped? Is that right?

To make a slight correction, I don't think the staff is ignoring people's requests. With the betas and roadmap features going on, I assume their hands and budget are full. They still consider all feedback.
So your request is to separate text so each line is editable. That's new. And from your screenshots, I didn't realize Corel did that. (Yes, I'm a nerd who can identify the program.) When you try to convert your text to curves, do you have the move tool selected?

brunovinhas got a reaction from Petar Petrenko in Pencil tool
I'm always awed by the narrow-minded replys that I keep getting with my ideas
But fortunately I'm not the only one finding that this idea can be very handy.
Other solution would be adding a polyline tool like the one Corel Draw has. But working simply as Petar_MK described would be enough.
Thanks

I'm closing this topic because it's becoming all about personal beliefs. This topic needed only one response and that was:
Thanks for the suggestion, it's appreciated, but Serif does not need to ask for crowdfunding in order to reach completion of this project.

brunovinhas reacted to MEB in Combining artistic text
Hi Bruno,
The geometry operations (add, subtract etc) only work with paths, not editable text objects.
As you already discovered there's no way to do this, other than copy/pasting the text into a frame text.
Is there any specific cases where you need this frequently? Any file/PDF generated by third party software or something...

brunovinhas reacted to MEB in Convert outline to object
Hi Bruno,
With the object selected, go to menu Layer ▸ Expand Stroke.
Regarding the second issue, it will be implemented later (select objects by their attributes).

brunovinhas reacted to MEB in Blend tool
Hi brunovinhas,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
This is not available yet. It's already on Affinity Designer's roadmap to be implemented later.

No - we have rotate about point. You just need to turn it on in the context toolbar for the Move tool.

Ctrl+Shft+V or from Edit Menu: Paste Style
Would like to see the options as to what you paste (stroke, fill, shadow, etc)

brunovinhas got a reaction from Busenitz in Shaping Tools
I don't like very much the shaping tools in Affinity designer.
I know that you copy the mechanics from illustrator, In my opinion you should take Corel Draw as reference for the shaping tools. Instead of add, subtract, intersect, divide and combine you should have - trim, weld and intersect each one with leave original and/or target object.
