[Deselect Command No Longer Works]

On my office Mac (running 10.8 and Designer 1.2) if I create a shape I can CMD+D to deselect it. On my home mac funning 10.10 and Designer 1.3 the menu is greyed out and I get a 'beep' whenever I try to CMD+D.

It is true that in Designer 1.2 I can hit ESC to deselect but I can also CMD+D or use the menu Select > Deselect.

[What is the thinking behind the 96dpi web default?]

I'm curious why the developers have decided that when one creates a new 'Web' document the default resolution is 96dpi. I thought 96 dpi was a false promise on Windows… I am aware that I can change it but as it's fresh out of the box I imagine some thought went into it making 96 a default.

Any clarity on this is most welcome.
