    Unable to load LUTs

Same here: Latest iPad Pro 2018 12.9” Latest iOS 12.4 Latest Affinity Photo 1.7.2 All LUTs show up greyed out no matter of the format (cube, 3dl etc) Do we have any comments from the developers on this?
  2. At the moment, tools in AD stay active even after the action is completed. While is fine with shapes because you can easily switch back to the move tool with "V", With the text tool is not possible because obviously pressing letters on the keyboard will type letters on the text area. So I find myself continously performing an "unpleasant" esc+v combination to do something that I should be able to do without pressing anything. Since is quite rare that someone will need the ability to draw text areas consecutively, I would propose to drop the text tool and switch back to move tool automatically once the text area has been drawn and we start typing. I'm not suggesting this behaviour for all the tools because I feel that the decision to keep tools active was taken intentionally by the developers, but I have to admit that I would personally prefer a workflow where I don't have to manually switch back to the move tool using shortcuts everytime I create an object on canvas.

    Adjustment Layers Bad Aliasing

I don't mean to change the algorithm, but just an automated way that does the same thing of the last image on the right (filters applied individually) For example, if you apply an HLS filter on top of everything, you get all the layer below altered (Image A), but under the hood AD is applying that same HLS individually for each object (Image B )
  4. Hello Everyone, This is my first post and congrats with the solid software you guys are building. One of the reasons why I feel AD stronger than other Vector packages is the ability to stack colour correction layers on top on vector illustrations. The problem with it is that the behaviour/results you get from these are not usable in production purely because even with small adjustments the blending between the objects gets aliased. The issue is present on canvas and on export See image below the result where Brightness/Contrast and Shadows/Highlights layers are added to the group. How do we fix/workaround this? Thanks Phil

    Adjustment Layers Bad Aliasing

Hi Tony, You are right when you say that is a common issue found in similar softwares, Photoshop and After Effects produce a similar undesired effect when applying Adjustment layers. However, they are raster software (AE sort-of), if we look at the implementation of Adjustment layers done by a third party plugin for Illustrator, we can see how the quality of the result produced is almost perfect with no aliasing. As Chris pointed out before, applying the filters to each individual object separately in Affinity Designer doesn't produce aliasing, but not a very usable option when you start having an illustration with hundreds of layers. See image attached for results comparison. Do you think is possible to implement that adjustment layers propagate to each individual layers of a group instead of rasterising the whole group on the fly and applying the filter on it? (I guess it is what the plugin for Illustrator does under the hood) If it's expensive CPU/GPU wise could be something enabled on export only. Thanks

    Adjustment Layers Bad Aliasing

Hi Chris, Just confirming that the issue is present on Affinity Photo as well, This bug alone is very big as it compromises the entire picture on both softwares. (Makes Adjustment layers unusable) Is this something that is known internally by the developers and is being taken with priority?
  7. Sorry Dave, can I ask you what's your carrer background experience and your role for this software? To me is clear from all your replies that, with no offence, you never really worked as a professional designer. Because is when you work 8h hours under pressure with huge clients that a sofware start showing its limits, and for the case of Affinity Designer, the great speed in performance is not followed by a user experience of the same level, which makes the software slow. The problem I stated in this topic is one of the UX issues thats holds the software down, and double clicking on the canvas is not a solution since this action should be performed ideally with no clicks at all.
  8. We are still talking about dropping tools on click out on the canvas, sure you can type into your text area after you have created it. If you want you can do the other way around. Keep the current AD functionality of keeping the tool active as default, but also adding a functionality that clicking out on the canvas while pressing a modifier goes back to move tool. Very quick to implement, do you agree more with this solution? Thanks
  9. That's why I think that should be default for all other tools as well. Since pretty much no designer find himself creating different text areas, rectangles and so on consecutively, what's your insight behind the idea of keeping the tool active? Then, if you want to keep that functionality for those rare situations you can still forcing AD to keep the tool by pressing a modifier and drawing things consecutively.

    Adjustment Layers Bad Aliasing

    Awesome, please keep me posted
  11. Hi Dave, thanks for your reply. Yes, clicking out of the canvas performs the same action as pressing "esc", but the Text Tool is still selected, so then you have to press "V" again to move it. For better usability, should switch back to move tool automatically if the user clicks out on the canvas. Also, to avoid confusion, the cursor should change to show the standard OS move tool arrow cursor if we are mouse over on the canvas (just the cursor, the text tool still active and selected) suggesting that by clicking out, you are going back to move tool and not creating a new text.

    Adjustment Layers Bad Aliasing

Anyone? Would be nice to have an opinion from an AD developer on this.
