No other software does selections like this. There are always 2 separate hotkeys for adding and removing objects from the current selection.

That is a very absolutist statement. Just out of interest: Can you tell me a known and widely used programme that uses two different shortcuts for selecting and deselecting. I would consider that a bit cumbersome.

Hi, when changing pressure curve/size variance/opacity variance in brush properties, nothing actually happens. The preview in the properties window reflect the changes correctly, but it doesn' actually affect the curve stroke.

After you have set the properties, you must define a pressure curve (contour panel).

Let's say i want to PUSH "A" ( Emboss ) into DOTS and move ( WARP ) borders of "A" letter in this case.

In principle, this would work the same way. Since it does not work with groups, you have to merge all the individual curves beforehand. If the individual circles are to have different colours (as in your example), it is a little more complicated. Then you have to copy the warp group into each individual object plane. But then you lose the flexibility.

Welcome to the forums here :12_slight_smile:
V1 and V2 are installed in different directories. You can use both in parallel. But if you want, you can also uninstall V1 (but you don't have to).

I seem to recall - though won't swear to it, and may [obviously] be wrong - that on Photo 1, after using a tool, clicking on the tool again - without selecting the white arrow - will return to the previously used / last used tool.

V2 works like V1 in this respect, but you don't have to aim at that little white arrow. You can also right-click on a tool set. This is slightly quicker and more convenient. Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything better.

I want to know what it takes to actually enjoy using the program on a serious project.

For professional use of Affinity Photo 2, you should have hardware that optimally supports hardware acceleration. This means that you should have a GPU with OpenCL technology that communicates directly with the graphics hardware of your system. Also, I would not use less than 8 GB of RAM - rather more.

You can also use Affinity Photo 2's built-in benchmark function to numerically compare the performance of your CPU and GPU. This can help you find the best hardware for your needs.

The problem happens like this. I had older hardware AMD phenom II 960T vga nvidia 1060. I bought a new computer with new ddr4 memories, intel i5 12400F processor, with the same vga 1060 nvia. It turns out that every time I try to move more than one layer the program crashes completely, I thought it could be the old hardware but on the new one it also happens. And this has happened since I bought the affinity photo.

Does the problem exist even if you turn off the hardware acceleration (Settings > Performance)?

You must rasterise all images before performing pixel operations.

That doesn't sound logical to me:
    1. Copying a complete layer is not a pixel operation in my opinion.
    2. It works with placed images, although they are not rasterised either.

I think I now know what the reason is. The effect apparently only occurs when RAW images are referenced during development.
For me, the question now is whether this is what the developers intended.
