  1. It seems that linking live filter layers does not work. Linking adjustment layers, on the other hand, works quite well. However, the masking of adjustment layers no longer works in this case. This is certainly intentional because it would be too complex.
  2. I was talking about market power and monopolisation. And since Adobe is no longer ruled by creative minds but by business economists, the shareholders are the measure of all things. I doubt that Thomas Knoll would still feel comfortable at Adobe today.
  3. Do the following: Open any picture. From the menu, select File => New Stack for Astrophotography. Result: Affinity Photo (Beta) crashes.
  4. That could be an explanation. It might also explain the redundancy I mentioned in my previous post.
  5. Thanks for the explanations Chris! The handling is not a problem if you know how to use it. As @carl123 already noted, it could be a bit more intuitive. But it works. I think there is some redundancy in the link panel: the black squares on the left encourage you to click on them. But they are only the destination point. The link icon on the right can be clicked, and it has the function of restoring the link. So there are two geographically far apart sensitive points that serve the link. One should unite the two elements. For example, a link symbol in a square. The link symbol should have two states.
  6. You don't have to drag the link icon. You can touch the layer anywhere. The video shows that it only works with a non-selected layer. That's why it didn't work for me. The question to Serif is: why? You have to hit the black square exactly. That is not a big problem. But the question to Serif is also here: why?
  7. I know, but it doesn't work. It doesn't matter where I drag the layer. It doesn't work anywhere.
  8. After I had created a layer link ("Duplicate Linked"), I cut one of the links again (Panel Link). It should be possible to restore the link by dragging the layer onto the cut entry. But this does not work.
  9. What does this have to do with global levels? Or have I misunderstood something?
  10. If you have the German beta, the help is also in German (Help menu or F1).
  11. Restoring a disconnected layer link does not seem to work.
  12. You get a completely different interface, with a limited menu, a limited number of studio panels and a limited symbol bar. The toolbar is also different. Also note that the Photo Persona icon in the toolbar is inactive. This is a sign that you are not in the Photo Persona.
  13. I had asked myself this question earlier with other functions - for example, with the panorama function.
  14. I would not make the professionalism of a software dependent on a shortcut. But I agree with you that a shortcut should be defined by default for setting the standard colours. For someone who works a lot with masks, setting black and white is a bit awkward - especially since there is no button for it, as in PS . Maybe Serif didn't give it much priority because you can set a shortcut yourself. But on the other hand, it is certainly no big deal to fix the D key 🙂.
  15. Unfortunately, there is no way to set the color selectors to black and white by default shortcut. The help does say to use the D key (as in PS), but it doesn't work. It does not work in the beta version either.
  16. Because it's only like this in the beta, I have only one explanation: you want to exchange the labels for icons in perspective. Someone started it and then the doorbell rang 😎. I think icons are better and more space efficient, but they could be a little bit bigger.
  17. I have only just discovered it. In the release version there is no such difference.
  18. I noticed it now (hadn't read the thread). You can set it only in the save dialog, but you have to enter it manually. This does not make a professional impression and reminds me a bit of GIMP. I agree with the suggestion to put the selection in the basic settings of the program.
  19. Sometimes I have connected a drawing tablet. But that has never led to such a change before.
  20. Thanks a lot @walt.farrell, that solved the problem. However, there are two mysteries: What changed it, if I didn't do it? This option is so hidden that you can't change it by accident. To my knowledge the effect was only visible in Affinity Photo. In Photoshop, for example, all menus were opened normally to the right.
  21. I have noticed that some of my menus open to the left - instead of to the right. This is especially noticeable in the "Filter" menu (see screenshot). In other programs I have not noticed this yet. Is this intended?
