  1. Thank you for your trouble! I couldn't see that the narrow road was interrupted. This method would be a bit cumbersome in practice (especially with thin edges), especially since there is no catch mechanism for it. You could draw the lines through and calculate with a mix mode (e.g. "Expose colors"). But this only works with black and white. Maybe I (or someone else) will find another solution. Until then I have to use my proven method for different street widths (see attached file). Straßen.afdesign
  2. Can you explain the thin lines (above) in more detail (step by step)? 1. Have you drawn the thin road in the same way as the wide roads ()? Unfortunately you can't see that. 2. Why did you create a C-level? (and not a normal one)? 3. Probably the whole thing doesn't work in "delete" mixed mode.
  3. Thanks for the explanation! But then there should be exchange formats. In other graphic applications I know the possibility to save a file in a lower version within the higher version. And concerning AD: Can the SVG format be used as an exchange format? After all, layers can be saved with it.
  4. I have noticed that affinity software is not upward compatible. For example, you can no longer open an AD1.7 file in an AD1.6 version. Is that intentional? If so: Can I install multiple versions of affinity software in parallel - for example, 1.6 and 1.7 side by side?
  5. This is a wonderful and efficient technique for drawing road maps. And the best thing about it: every single street can be flexibly adapted! But unfortunately it is not possible to create streets of different widths in this way.
  6. Thanks for the info! I only read in the Windows forums. That's why I didn't see this thread. Unfortunately @Andy Somerfield only talks about the highlights. But the whole filter has to be improved.
  7. Thank you for your trouble! Obviously such an (automatic) color correction was implemented in the old filter. Photoshop has a correction slider for this. The affinity filter should also have such a balance control. The value ranges of the filter are much too small. The old filter was more effective for more extreme cases (as can be seen in my example). And the Lights slider creates seemingly gray veils. My workaround until the problem is solved: For the time being, I help myself by using the Live filter in the "Luminance" mix mode. And I increase the filter strength by creating an opacity-controlled duplicate of the filter layer. But I can't imagine that this was Serif's plan.
  8. @Frozen Death Knight: I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. Can you possibly show this with an example? The filter is mainly used to brighten shadows and darken lights. This is the real challenge in the "Photo Persona". What do you mean by "real" colors? In such problem areas you can usually no longer speak of colors. For other areas there are better possibilities (e.g. gradation curves). Such image areas do not have to be tormented with this filter.
  9. There's certainly a lot going on at Serif right now. But I would still be happy if a mod could comment on it. Will the filter stay that way now?
  10. Because the problem persists in version 1.7, I continue the thread here:
  11. Unfortunately I have to state that a big deterioration compared to version 1.6 has been taken over into version 1.7. The filter "Shadow/Highlights" was rewritten in beta and is no longer usable. I had initiated a thread on this topic in the beta forum (see below), which I now want to continue here.
  12. That's one of those questions again. Or: "I want to have arrow buttons for the undo function"? Can you please do everything so that it looks like "Word"? Not only the one who answers, but also the one who asks has a duty of care!
  13. That would be a pity. And it would be a reason to wait with the update to 1.7. Probably the Photo Persona will not work in APub as a result. Maybe it is possible that a mod says something about the state of things. I still don't know if this is intentional or an bug. The way it works now, unfortunately, the filter is no longer usable.
  14. I have only tried to explain why this button does not exist for embedded images. You're right: Even with embedded images, there must be a way to go directly to a single image to edit it. Then, of course, the image editing only refers to the image in the layout. My suggestion: There are two different buttons in the same place: - For linked images it is called "Edit original". - For embedded images it is called "Edit Image".
  15. Because APub doesn't know where the original of an embedded image is (theoretically). The result of the image editing would have no effect on the image in the layout and would therefore be somewhat meaningless. Unless, of course, you prefer in the future to do image editing in the photo persona rather than in the original application.
  16. S u p p l e m e n t : For a better comparison I added the original picture to my first post.
  17. The missing radius controls are one thing. Much worse is that the whole filter does not work as expected. In the second picture, the "Shadow Strength" control is set to 100% and has little effect. Instead of brightening up the dark image areas, they become bluer and bluer.
  18. The "Shadow / Highlights" filter can unfortunately no longer be used. It has hardly any effect and distorts the colors (see attached example). In addition, the two Radius controls are now missing. - Figure 1 shows the original * - Figure 2 refers to version 1.7.0.333 (beta) - Figure 3 refers to version 1.6.5.123 (I deliberately exaggerated) * I added the original picture to the article later on!
  19. Isn't the integration of Regex (ECMAScript with Perl extensions) an indication of where the journey might lead?!
  20. Thanks for explaining, Sean. I understand: So I can't create a picture frame manually using the layers. That's not so bad, because I can always convert an image into a picture frame. I was also interested in whether these special frame properties become attributes of the image when an image is placed. Because if I take an image out of the frame using the layer panel and drag it into another frame, it will also work manually without any problems. An image that used to be in a picture frame seems to have different (additional) properties than an image placed without a picture frame. Is this impression correct?
