[APu] Text wrapping
Onur replied to Matthias's topic in Feedback for the V1 Affinity Suite of Products
For Designer you can use this as a temporary solution. But 'available as an publisher feature' is not OK for this kind of simple feature. BTW the topic changed or it was like this before? https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/29757-affinity-designer-tut-text-wrap/&p=145226 -
Hi jdeal96, I am not familiar with Illustrator so sorry in advance if i misunderstand what is the shape builder tool. As much as i understand with this video it looks like Geometry Tool of AD. Can you play with them to see if it does what you want?

printing to 11x14

I think you can adjust custom page size right? Not sure if you can save it though. -
Thats what i am saying. Instead of shrinking, could i change it's resolution to higher value with slight bluring effect. I can change it's dpi in Corel with anti-aliasing option. That method gives me little blur image without any pixelation. Look at this image: At bottom, it's original image with it's original (72) dpi. On top of that there is 300dpi anti-aliased version. This is what i am asking. Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply guys, I am kind of confused to be honest. R C-R, think about this scnerio please: I create 300 dpi CMYK A4 sized document at beginning. Then import an RGB image let's say 72dpi in 5cm x 5 cm size. In that case even document is 300 dpi, my image will still proceed as 72dpi and will be printed 72dpi in 300 / 600 dpi CTP progress. Image above there are mirror of an 72dpi image (bottom one, the original image) and 300 dpi converted version with anti aliasing checked version on top. If send them in pdf below image will look pixelated on printed media how ever 300 cpi converted one will look smoother like example. So usually i convert each rgb image to CMYK 300dpi and then adjust curve values before create a pre-press file. Did this explain what i meant before? MikeW, do you know some video/image explanation about this? I don't think i understand you well.

[Multi] GUI color of Affinity Photo and Designer
Onur replied to octal's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Hi octal, As i know you can't change the color of ui however you can change gamma rate slightly. For that use: Edit > Preferences > User Interface > (UI Gamma bar) -
Hi people, I want to know if we can change image color mode and resolution inside the document. Image below could explain better perhaps. I am not talking about while exporting all images will convert in CMYK if documents color mode is CMYK. It's not good to see at export if your image looks different in CMYK than RGB which occurs most of the time. Also wondering if we can change resolution of an image into 300dpi in document again not export? Sometimes we should use 150 dpi photo for example in a design but it will look pixelated on printed sample. And changing dpi makes it slightly blur but not pixelated anymore so it could be more acceptable than pixelated one.

Guideline - removal
Onur replied to Rik's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Also it would be good to be able to use 'Transform' box to edit values like x-y positions like we can do on regular objects. -
Looks cool mate.

Folks, we should discuss this in manner of brainstorm not argument. R C-R, sorry dude but if this is a design software and 'print ready works' are one of their sell point it's not OK to ignore text management capabilities. And also you guys may consider our thoughts as reviews and a gateway to have more users like us instead of complains. I work mostly on print press, if my customer asks for 21mm x 50mm leaflet with long text in it i can't say "sorry dude but i have to charge you more than regular because my new toll / software is not allowing easy control on text." right? "Reality check: anybody buying an app based on its name rather than its features is unlikely to be happy with what they get." Seriously? Are you really thinking me or others are.. nevermind. You may right about something so please show us why you think like that don't make fun of people. It's not something about price by the way, someone mentioned it. "Price is fair than other apps who can manage those request" is not something Serif would think i suppose. Even APub will given free of charge it is not good or even OK to edit texts on that and go back to add an icon on AD then go back other app to give wrap and make this a routine. Again, these are suggestions not complains. I am loving AD each day and wondering what will happen at the end.

I see, for B-Spine in Corel, you use Bezier tool but no need to adjust curves, just regular lines and then select all nodes (it's CTRL+A after double click that line drawing) and press smooth curve button. Not a dedicated one click button but in 2 clicks you can solve it. Still don't understand 'ReDraw Path'

Basic functionality term may depend on person however i am thinking if you make a competitor to some famous apps you should give users more stuffs to make them use your app. I beleive there are lots of people like me in search of new software to use in their professional routine. Each new app requires a learning curve and while you are in deadlines it's risky to give a new app a shot. It's always comfortable to work with familiar things right? For me i can say i am kind of expert in coreldraw which means i can easily accomplish all my tasks with it because i an familiar. However there are some situations push me to search something new. I know there are adobe users in same situation. We are not hobbyists, we are not newbies who want to start their career with a software. So in our situation we are (kindly) looking for stuffs we are familiar with or things that save our time with one click instead of 5 steps. I personally agree that it os not possible to find every single thing in our familiar app however there are some daily used things which are really important to have them. And our feedbacks or requests are really important not because WE are important personally but WE are people who are in search which means not satisfied anymore with our current tools. It could be a tip for developers about what to care. And AD is new to windows so there are and will be many people like me as new comers to your (mac users)society. We are kindly ask your patience for a time. Before opening a topic or ask a question i use forum search but i am not sure it works efficiently. Then i try google to find proper subjects /answers but again it is not ok all the time. So i will again ask you guys, not you personally, to be a bit patient about us. And yes this is something i use often personally. Cheers all of you.

Affinity Designer Tut - Text Wrap
Onur replied to Onur's topic in Tutorials (Staff and Customer Created Tutorials)
mac_heibu it's your second time you insist this app is not for publishing / layouts however this is not a illustration specified app i suppose. While designing most of designer needs those elements. You may not aware what design meaning but please be more supportive. And unless you will add something useful please don't reply my post if you don't mind. Thank you. -

MikeW i 300% agree with you. This is a temp solution. I guess text management options are kind of weak for now.
