  1. Here it's still working as it always did, I can go from mouse to pen without any problem. I can select the pen tool with the pencil, draw a few lines, use the mouse to draw a few more and then select another tool with either the mouse or the pen. It's probably more a tablet driver issue. I use a Wacom CTH-470 that is many years old. EDIT: I just saw that you were talking about version 1, but I could use both exactly like version 2 in version 1.
  2. I will not tell you that you're doing something wrong.... But why does it work for everybody but you .... Why don't you show us a screen capture or a video of what you do to get that "strange" behavior.... Two things, you've been cursed.... or you're doing something wrong. This being said, if you don't want us to help you by giving us more hints or pictures... well... good luck, and Happy New Year. I'm done with this post.
  3. It could be a user fault because it works for everyone else (well... almost), and it depends on what kind of layer you're working one. And a few more reasons. So without a screenshot of your work or a video it's quite hard to help you. Nobody wants to be rude here, we all want to help, that's the reason of us being here. But without any clue there is not much we can do.
  4. AutoSave files are supposed to be in C:\Users\username\.affinity\Photo\2.0\autosave There is nothing like that in the Windows Apps protected/hidden folder. Version 1 does not install in an hidden folder as far as I know.
  5. I have this kind of bug , lag sometime working on a simple file with just 3 or 4 layers. Changing the brush size using Ctrl-Alt and the mouse the brush cursor stutters and disappears for a second or two and then reappears somewhere. I then stop, take a deep breath, wait a few seconds ... and it's back to normal. While this was happening the fan was getting louder too. It feels like a memory ... let's say mix up.
  6. It could just be a rendering artefact. If you zoom in or out it should disappear. And come back at certain zoom levels.
  7. In version 2 if you click "Yes" Serif will send you a brand new top of the line graphics card.
  8. Well ... I was sure it worked on an external monitor from iPad. All my other apps do, but not Affinity apps. It's not a deal breaker for me but I must say I'm a little disappointed.
  9. I am. It only happens when I click on the page while having the Gradient Tool selected. If I select the Move tool and do something else it does not crash. But as soon a I come back to the Gradient tool and click on the page.... Bye Bye Photo.
  10. Crashes here too repeating the above steps. I had a few crashes like that yesterday doing some other operations on a simple file. Crash Report attached. 1a60fae9-be40-4cdc-95c8-d9b0c2ecfd03.dmp Here is the Event error log in Windows in case it might help: Application: Photo.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception. 11. Well, the DMP files attached are from yesterday, before I uninstalled and reinstalled all Affinity Apps, that was today.
  12. It was with the 2.0.3 release version (msix). System is up to date in every way. This morning I uninstalled every thing and reinstalled ... we'll see. So far so good. I have to mention that I'm on Windows 11 Insider Preview. Thanks.
  13. I had a few crashes yesterday in Photo, a simple file, just a few layers. Selecting color, painting on a mask, etc made Photo 2.0.3 crash. Today I uninstalled everything and cleaned all traces of Affinity. Reinstalled everything and since then.... no problem so far.
  14. After I had crashes with Photo 2 yesterday I uninstalled all apps and reinstalled them. I first installed Photo 2 without any problem. Then I installed Designer 2, when I clicked to close the "Account" window Designer disappear completely. After I restarted the app everything runs fine. Here is the Error Event that was generated, if this can be of any help. Application: Designer.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception. 15. Here is the screenshot of the Preferences window. I wonder why it sets a max of 16 GB when I have 32. Everything is up to date, nothing weird installed. I will uninstall all apps, clean up everything and reinstall to see what will happen. Just the bottom part of the "log.txt" file in Photo 2, where it says "found" not "found" makes me wonder. 16. I was painting black on the mask with a simple default Photo brush. For the Color Wheel, I was moving the cursor at the top of the triangle, had not click yet, Photo disappeared all of a sudden. I never had much problem with all previous versions of any Affinity apps, release or beta, just with this one. And I usually work on much more complicated files. I also remember that while trying to enlarge the brush using "Ctrl" - "Alt" and the mouse, the brush size was changing erratically, disappearing and stuttering for a few seconds and then was back to normal. It's the first time I experienced this one. As mentioned above.... Ctrl-S is my friend.
  17. I was working on a simple file, 5 or 6 layers at most and I had a few crashes. Once I was painting on a mask and another when I was selecting colors on the Color Wheel. I had a few more but these are the ones I remember. Before the first crash I had just re-arrange my tools and was working. Then Photo crashed and I restarted it.... the tools panel modifications were gone, everything was back to the default. Those crashes happened with and without HA. As I save my work very often while I work I did not loose anything. I have attached two dmp files. Thanks. 8f832291-c115-4d9c-ab01-a4e5470987a0.dmp cb1e83d6-06aa-4b8e-ac89-7c4020f2a748.dmp
  18. It probably depends of where you are as it also took just a few seconds here in Canada.
  19. Here everything works fine except "miter" which doesn't change anything. But mouse wheel scrolling works. But whatever the value nothing changes. EDIT: I had Show lines in Points enabled. When it's disable it stop working. Mouse wheel only makes it toggle from 0mm to the max it was originally set to, manually entering the value translate from points to mm.
  20. Game studios are updated more often and fine tuned for games. But studio work fine for everything.
  21. A quick look at your dmp file, shows that the error seems to be related to your graphic display driver. I see that you've updated them but I would delete them completely. Use the drivers removing tool mentioned somewhere on the forum and then reinstall from scratch.
  22. The Alpha channel is the degree of transparency, or opacity.
