  1. As brought up in this thread it seems that an option in the 'Grid and Snapping Axis' manager is missing in the Windows version of APub: 'Show axis editing handles' d.
  2. Hi @walt.farrell, most likely you are right. It must be due to a difference between Mac and Windows. d.
  3. Thanks @αℓƒяє∂, for this more universal path. I was not aware of this. d.
  4. Hi @fde101, thanks for the quick reply. I am on the latest version already. Below the 'Show Grid' checkbox I see 'Use automatic grid'. I am confused. d.
  5. You can see the path to the document by hovering your mouse over the Tab at the top. It displays the filename (sorry, no screenshot). In my system it is 'C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Publisher\1.0 (Beta)\Samples' d.
  6. Hello @taizo, you have to asign a text style to the list first (or create a new one from that as a starting point). Then you double click on the text style in the 'Text Styles' panel and there you click in the left list on 'Bullets and Numbering'. In the field 'Tabstop' you can adjust the space between the bullet and the text. And many other settings, too. d.
  7. Among the huge amount of fixes this is very good news Keep up the good work! d.
  8. Hi @Chris B, I'm now on APub beta .157 and tried this again. The message box pops up in front of the welcome message if I had disconnected from the internet before I click on download. I did not get a message box at all when I disconnect after the download has started. It just stops. I waited for about 30 seconds to see if there is some kind of timeout. Interesting also: after I connected to the internet again the download did not continue. d.
  9. In the meantime I have been able to download the sample file at a regular speed. d.
  10. This is what I have found out, too. But why is the channel mixer adjustment limited to this area? I did not find any dimensions of this particular layer. d.
  11. This looks strange. I think someone from Serif has to look into this. Cheers, d.
  12. Yes it could. But I think they decided not to do it (for now) because they want to be AD different from APh. d.
  13. Hi @Mr. K, 57MB but not problem to download. I could not find an object in your file that is causing the rectangle. I exported to 'PDF (for print)' and the result showed the same thing as in your first post. I notice that you are using a channel mixer layer in the APh file. When this is turned off it shows almost the difference in colour as in the output. I assume this layer has a partial mask that does not cover the entire picture of the drawer. For a test I deactivated the channel mixer layer and exported againg. There is a visible difference but the rectangle is still there. Where from do you have the APh image? Can you look into it and see if there is a mask on the channel mixer layer? d.
  14. Hi @Mr. K, it would be good to have the APub file, too. Then we could look if something is in there. If I open 1.pdf in APub I find a rectangle shaped image in the area of the light area that is grouped with the image of the furniture. d.
  15. Hello @Nina Ghanbarzadeh, wellcome to the forum. InDesign is a program that was developed over several years by now. Affinity Publisher is currently in the beta state of its first release ever. This means there are big differences in the feature set of APub compared to InDesign. Both programs are made to layout and publish documents for print. And APub is already quite capable. I want to suggest two things. 1) read a little in this forum, especially the fixed topics at the top. There you will find some of the features that are still missing. And 2) go and download the public beta version from here. Then you can find out yourself how well APub works for your needs Cheers, d.
  16. Hi @Grauzorn, for some reason you posted in the Affinity Designer forum Maybe you should post again in the Affinity Publisher forum over there. BTW, I have no problems scrolling in the pages panel or anywhere else. Cheers, d.
  17. I think this is one way of Affinity to distinguish the different programs. Photo has a more elaborate toolset for pixels, while Designer has more of them for the vector. I constantly switch from one app to the other for certain purposes. It did not take long to get used to that workflow. d.
  18. Hello @declan_j_m, welcome to the forum. Are you aware that Affinity Designer is a vector drawing program and as that not an alternative to Photoshop, which mainly works with pixels. You might look into Affinity Photo instead. It does have various pixel selection tools, including a 'magic wand'. d.
  19. Hi @Panchdara, I'm not so much worried about the download itself. I will try that later again. I posted this here in the bugs forum because of the hidden error message, as @αℓƒяє∂ allready pointed out. It may be a minor bug but certainly worth fixing it . Cheers, d.
  20. I tried to download the APub sample file 'Affinity Brochure' from the welcome screen > 'View samples'. This took very long and after I did not see any result after hours I closed this window. There I discovered a pop up message (see attachment). I think this message should show in front of the 'View samples' window instead behind it d.
  21. So I let it sit for a couple of hours with no success. After closing the welcome a.k.a. download window I discovered the following error message. It obviously pop up behind this window! d.
  22. Thank you, that's what I would expect here, as well. Maybe not that quick but less than five minutes. Just for a test I downloaded a 600 MB file and it took about two minutes. At least the progress circle does progress d.
