  1. You can find them at the top of the forum 'Report bugs in Publisher on Windows'. There is usually a pinned post with a title like 'Affinity Publisher Public Beta - 1.7.0.xxx'. Of course you find a similar post in the 'Report bugs in Publisher on Mac'. d.
  2. Hi @ronnyb, now I understand your request. I tried it and this is indeed not possible at the moment. d.
  3. Hi @appaulmac, select the picture frame with the Move Tool (V) Make sure the picture frame's properties is set to 'None'. You find it on the toolbar. You also can set an anchor point. On the very right of the toolbar you find an option 'Lock Children'. Enable it. Now you can resize the picture frame without resizing the picture itself d.
  4. Hi @ronnyb, if I understand you correctly CTRL+0 does fit the hight of the current image already. I do not know of a way to fit to the width of an image, though. d.
  5. Hi @thisleenoble, this is a very good example on how to use symbols effectively. Thank you for showing your method. I did something similar a while ago during the design of a CD booklet, only that I don't have the need to update the design quarterly I support your request for variables or data merge but I assume it will take time to see this in AD. Cheers, d.
  6. I have not heard/read anything about the integration of form elements. Currently there is no official roadmap because we are in an early stage of the software. This will certainly change after the initial release. d.
  7. Hello @Forrest German, welcome to the forum. This may be due to the fact that APub is a version 1.7.xxx program and the available APh and AD are still at 1.6.xxx It may be that they are not backward compatible. This is just a guess, though. d.
  8. I was referring to your statement that the print on paper industry is going to vanish. I doubt that this is going to happen. But this is really just a minor point to discuss in this context. So let's move on. Cheers, d.
  9. Translation to English: 'Then it should work with APub?' Hi @UweJ, APub is a completely new start with publishing software. There is no relation to 'PagePlus X9' in regard to its code or concept. What has been achived with PagePlus won't be implemented with APub 1 to 1. d.
  10. Hi @Mr. K, just to add a different perspective to what you are saying. Please think of the entire packaging industry. I can hardly believe that printed packages will be replaced with digital display boxes in the near future. Of course digital publishing is becoming more important (see also TonyB's reply in the post above). But from what I observe APub's first release will be targeted at print publishing as a starting point. Also see this post by Dave Harris: Cheers, d.
  11. Hi @UweJ, if you are asking for something that is a form that can be exported as a PDF and then printed out and filled in with a pen on a sheet of paper then you certainly can do this. But I assume you are asking to create a PDF form to fill in on the computer? This is not possible at the moment. What you could do is to create all the none form specific elements in APub, export it as PDF and then open it in an application that has the ability to create PDF form elements and add them there. But this perhaps not the workflow you are looking for Cheers, d.
  12. I also came across this 'behaviour' in this thread and MEB's statement from mid september on the issue. We can hopefully hope to see a solution in one of the next betas d.
  13. Update: on my first try I typed in 'toot' and this didn't find anything. On my second try after your reply I copied 'toot' from the text in the document and I can reproduce the hang. In task-manager I see two entries under 'Affinity Publisher Beta': 'Affinity Publisher Beta' and 'crashpad_handler.exe'. I was able to 'kill' the two from task-manager. The only question that remains is, what makes you type in 'toot' and try to replace it with 'tweet' d.
  14. This is an easy to follow instruction. To my surprise clicking on Find doesn't do anything. It finds nothing and 'Replace all' stays greyed out. d.
  15. Hello @Gigiga, to save workspaces is some sort of a popular request around here, you are not alone and it does make sense, IMHO. It just isn't implemented and - to be honest - I do not know of any indication when this feature will come. d.
  16. This may be a scenario. But I'd rather do it a bit different. As it was mentioned somewhere else in this forum a 'New document from page' or 'New document from selection' would be more precise that we can turn APub content into a new APub document. I assume that a snapshot feature could also have this (as does AD). But I do not know if snapshots will be available in APub at all. d.
  17. Indeed, I can confirm this. Really strange. Well, let's wait for next week d.
  18. Hi @ktpaul, I see the same with german umlauts. I think it has something to do with a new addition in the latest beta release: 'The option to toggle Unicode (U+nnnn) representation of text has been added to the Text menu' I see this only in artistic text. I consider this a bug. d.
  19. I didn't see your first post. I am just guessing but to me a 'New from Clipboard' does make sense in a photo application like APh and perhaps in AD, too. But I am not sure how this should work in APub? The basic setup of a APub file is rather complex with bleeds and margins if needed. How should this work with e.g. text from a MS Word file? How do you imagine that this should work? I'm asking out of curiousity. d.
  20. It seems that the concept of 'linked files' is still under construction, e.g. see this post (there may be more information on the forum on this. I didn't search thoroughly). So, basically, it will be possible to switch layers of embedded files on and off once the bugs are sorted out In it's initial release it will propably be not as advanced as in InDesign, though. d.
  21. Hi @hifred, what you can do is to double click on a placed file (I tried with an AD file and a native Photoshop file). This will open the file in a new tab where you have access it's layers. You can then turn on and off layers and simply by closing the tab the file updates. d.
