This, indeed, is true. I think the concept is to toggle between tools with single key strokes. I assume the team at Serif have thought about that thoroughly To look at it in a practical manner: from reading through the forum I dare to say there are users relying on their mouse (and asking for an undo icon) and there are users who use keyboard shortcuts. And there are people inbetween, too I guess those who rely on keyboard shortcuts know a little bit more what they are doing. Those 'inbetween' may get confuse at times. The goal should be to serve both groups with a good set of keyboard shortcuts that make sense. Looking it in that way this topic seems to be interesting to fine tune the logics of keyboard shortcuts. d.

This certainly looks like you were grouping with master pages. I assume you made the selection for the group from the layers panel? Please, try a different approach. Select everything on the left hand side on the page itself (e.g. by mouse and rubberband around all of its content). This won't include objects from the master page. I hope this helps. d.

Hi @Chrisw5, at least there is a logic to it. 'T' switches back to the text tool you've been using last. Pressing 'T' a second time switches to the other text tool. The easiest way to to access the tool of your choice directly is to give the artistic text tool a different keyboard shortcut (Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts > Tools). That way you switch 100% of the time with 'T' to frame text. Another thougth: assign 'F' to frame text. The F is not used at the moment and you can easily memorize it d.

Hi @derlange 58, column span is currently not available. The only work around I know is to create the headline as a seperate artistic text and assign it Text Wrap 'Jump'. This is a poor workaround because the headline does not flow with the text. d.

First off: I searched the forum but did not find anything. There is a chance I missed posts on this topic before. I made a design (in AD) consisting of several vector objects. I selected all of them (without grouping them) and clicked on 'Create' in the Symbols Studio. It turned out that this created a symbol for each single vector object that is part of the design (nine of them). That was not what I had intended. To delete all these symbols I tried to SHIFT+click on each of them. This is not possible in the Symbols Studio. I had to select each of these items individually, right mouse click and select 'Delete'. I assume, this qualifies for a suggestion: please allow to select multiple symbols in Symbol Studio. BTW: to create a symbol from the design I had to group all the vector shapes. This works well. Thank you d.

Hi @adirusf, your video is helpful, thankyou. In my first attempt I was trying this with frame text. In the video I saw you are using multiple instances of artistic text. Now I can replicate what you show in the video. APub just freezes after I hit 'Replace all'. Let's see what the moderators or developers are saying ... on monday Cheers! d.

Hi @Aammppaa, thanks for the explanation. I was looking for this, too, and could not find it. It needs a little training, though. It is important to first release the left mouse button and still hold the right mouse button. Then release the right mouse button. Releasing the right mouse button first only moves the center. d.

This may be a setting that is only available on the Mac. Can anyone confirm? I don't see it, either. On Win10. d.

With a different function F10 also in Windows is a system key command. F10 activates the menu. d.

Hello @Keith.M, this behaviour is not a bug but part of the current feature set. Anchoring of images or other objects with the text flow is not possible yet. The developers are aware of this and have stated it several times. It will be a function that will be available at a later time, but I have no idea when this will be. I personally miss this function, too. But we have to deal with it for now. Cheers, d.

Question: what happens if you change the original bussiness card? Does it replicate (like in Symbols) or is it possible to have a basic design and fill in different content in each replicated copy? It looks like this is the same issue I have reported yesterday. My imported PDF was created in APub. d.

Create a new document and place a text frame. Fill with filler text. Place a PDF document that has good visible margins above the text frame. Open 'Show Text wrap settings' and apply 'Square'. Expected behaviour: the text wraps around the outer boundaries of the PDF. Observed behaviour: the text wraps around the text in the PDF no matter to what I set the 'Page Box' property. Basically this is correct. When I tried before posting I realized that a page with text and a wide margin did not wrap at the page border but at the text block. Changing the bounding box property did not help. That's the reason why I came up with the 'container'. Maybe I have to look into this closer and perhaps there's a bug... d.

Hi @Roger terry, yes, this is possible. Place the PDF in the document at (about) the size you want it to be on the page. Create a rectangle at (about) the size you want it in your layout. Make sure this rectangle is above the text layer you want to wrap around In the layers panel drag the PDF on top of the rectangle. A blue indicator below the rectangle layer shows up and just drop the PDF there. The PDF is now clipped by the rectangle. Click on the rectangle in the layers panel to make it active. On the toolbar click on the 'Show Text Wrap Settings' icon. It's the left most in this screenshot: The 'Text Wrap' window shows up. There you can select one of several wrap options. Hi @lulgi, Affinity Designer introduced in it's 1.7 beta version custom presets for documents. This should work for business cards. For Avery labels you can create your own AD document with all the settings and design you need, save it in a folder called e.g. 'Templates'. To create a new document from a template you simply open one of your files, save it under a new name and fill in your data. This should work almost the same way d.

If you click once on a picture frame with a picture in it a button on the toolbar shows up that says 'Replace image'. I think this does the same thing. Except it's not a double click d.
