  1. It is also possible to do this in the layers studio. Create a new blank masterpage and assign it to the page with the contents. In the layers panel unlock the master page. Now select every element in the layers above the master page and move them into the master page. Lock the master page again. Finally remove the masterpage from the page. Now all the content is part of a new masterpage and can be applied to other pages. This is not the Inkscape method but it should work for now d.
  2. Looking in the wrong place does not make you an idiot In my eyes it's more like you perhaps found a GUI flaw that will be improved in the future. Currently the right click menues seem to be more related to the top 'Layer' menu than to some of the (additional) functionality in the layers studio. d.
  3. Hi @thomaso, I am pretty sure the grainy structure is defined with the gradient tool With the text frame selected switch to the Gradient Tool (G). Click on the gradient fill icon on the toolbar (at the top) and look at the colour stops' colour selection. At the bottom you will see a slider that says 'Noise'. This is where the structure is defined. d.
  4. Yes, it is listed below the download link. You have to look in the ‚Report bugs‘ Forum. d.
  5. Actually, I was under the impression that it is possible to use vector shapes with gradient fills as a mask to a achieve transparencies. But by trying this out just now I did not get it to work. I must be wrong (or it is a bug? Can someone, please, confirm). There is a way in APub to assign gradual transparency: use the Transparency Tool (Y). Cheers, d.
  6. Hi @Mark Oehlschlager, I think this is a limitation due to the fact that the Affinity Photo Persona is not activated yet. A mask layer that you create via the button at the bottom of the layers panel is a pixel layer. But there are no pixel tools in APub available at the moment. This will most likely change once APh is available with its pixel tools. What does work is vector masks. But they are created as vector objects/layers and you can e.g. place a rectangle above an image, right click on it and select 'Mask to Below'. Hope that explains something d.
  7. I had forgotten about that. I'll keep it in mind for the next beta. Cheers d.
  8. HI @Mark Oehlschlager, just for your information: as far as I know the help files are still work in progress. You may find some things still missing or referring to Affinity Designer functionality. Cheers, d.
  9. Thanks for the quick reply late night. CTRL+SHIFT+W is now in effect :-) BTW, thankyou all for the vision, the work and the support. d.
  10. Do we have to CTRL+startup to return to these defaults? In my APub F10 still is set to Preview. d.
  11. Hello @Grayhem, as long as PagePlus8 is working you are on the save side because you can access your 'old' files with full editability. For long term support you could think of using a virtual machine (= virtual computer) that hosts e.g. Windows 10 and has PagePlus8 on it. Then you could migrate this virtual machine to new computers that you will buy in the future. This could work until you can fully switch to Affinity Publisher. d.
  12. Actually, a little while ago I did a thesis that had some quite long titles. From a test with this particular text I came to the conclusion that such a long project (300+ pages) could be done in APub to about 80 to 90%. The TOC was quite good. What is missing is ankered objects and footnotes (as we all know ). d.
  13. This makes sense. Thank you. I didn't think of longer entries reaching over more than two lines. Then this be part of further refinement of the paragraph styling options in the future. d.
  14. I looked around in the paragraph formating options and could not find a solution to this. Would a value called 'First Line Right Indent' be the right aproach? d.
  15. Never mind. I just thought to connect you to the information that is already available on here. It is actually quite informative. Cheers, d.
  16. Hello @UtopianFlat, I am not quite sure but I think ArtBoards are doing exactly this. You can have (as far as I know) unlimited ArtBoards and you can export these to multiple file sizes at once. d.
  17. Hi @soapandhoney, this is an interesting idea. It's not possible at the moment. What we have is the recent files list. But this - obviously - only gives you access to a set of files you have recently worked on. And you have to open each one seperately Cheers, d.
  18. Hello @michacassola, are you aware that there are already several threads on a future asset manager or also called DAM (digital asset manager)? See this poll and a lot to read on this topic in this thread You even will be delighted to read this post by a Serif employee. Cheers! d.
  19. Not completely true There is an Arrow Tool and it draws 'a straight line with an arrowhead on the end' as the OP is asking. You are right in saying that it is not possible to add an arrowhead to a regular line. I concur with your remark in brackets d.
  20. Did anyone of you have the thought that a creative person (like many of you yourself) most likely worked long and hard to come up with a design that has to serve many different tasks? Some of the tasks we perhaps even don't know (yet). As good as I know Serif (which is most likely not very good but good enough to assume the following) they have thought about the design of the icons and they have a reason for the change. Of course it is possible to discuss the appearance of the new icons, especially in an open forum like this. But I am a little bewildered that some forumsters seem to forget that any design will never serve everybody's taste or preference. I myself want to express my appreciation to the effort from the people at Serif to present different aspects of good or interesting design and styles. E.g. at affinityspotlight.com. Cheers to all d.
  21. Good to hear that the 'F' key is working for you. To leave the Text Tool you can press ESC. This activates the text frame. Then you press the key of the tool you need next. d.
  22. This is true and I need this only occasionally. More often I create them at the same size beforehand. Or copy them. It depends on the task. I can imagine an enhancement of the alignment panel to size elements the same height and/or width (with or without repositioning them). d.
  23. We can use snapping to do this. Admittedly we probapely have to move one of the objects into position and move it to it's original position afterwards. In the few occations I need this this works for me d.
