  1. Hello @Andyneu, what you are looking for is something that is here around named DAM (= digital asset management). The question about this was brought up many times and intensively discussed. I mention this as a starting point to investigate what has already been said on the topic As a starting point you may want to look at this thread: For further reading just search the forum with the word 'DAM'. And another information: there seems to be some kind of software in development but it is unclear when to expect this. Cheers, d.
  2. Hello @photoShooter, one of the latest posts on this topic by a forum moderator was posted about two days ago: I assume you will not get much more information than this. Cheers, d.
  3. Hi @doodledude, I want to add, if you create a new layer in AD it is displayed with a folder icon. It works the same way in APub. After you add (or group as @Pšenda pointed out) the icon turns into a preview of the folder's content. d.
  4. I have seen this several times before after the introduction of new features. Usually it takes a little time for the localisation team to pick up and integrate new features into other languages. Cheers, d.
  5. Hi @doodledude, you can do this. Create an empty layer and drag other layers into it You can assign different colours, too. d.
  6. Hello @Mayank Bee, welcome to the forum. you can use the Export Persona and set a slice to 'Continuous Export'. This keeps an exported item up to date. d.
  7. I tried again with the sample file from this post (just a short test, though) In the last beta APub crashed immediately when double clicking on TOC1 text style. In this latest beta this works as expected. Thanks. d.
  8. Hi @Fritz_H, good to see that it turned out to be some kind of hiccup d.
  9. If I may add it is also worth looking at this thread here in the forum: where some of Serif staff posted (quite some time ago) the following: Most important part of the post is: 'I'll say this: I'm sitting next to the guys that are writing the DAM... It's a thing.' There has been a lot of talk about a Serif DAM on this forum but there is no indication when this will come. d.
  10. Yes, see e.g. this tutorial: I myself moved away from Xara after using it for years due to way the software was developed (or not). Consider this a personal preference and no Xara bashing. I am much happier with the Affinity range and the way Serif is communicating. (Lucky me I can go back to my old copy of Xara if I need an envelope of blend tool, which I hardly do). d.
  11. Hi @Fritz_H, thank you. This is more than I can provide. It seems you can move pages with the hand tool up and down but not from left to right. I can do this. I can move pages very smoothly all around. Up, down, left and right. I'm not saying you are doing something wrong. Your video/gif shows very well the limitations you experience. There must be something elso going on. I am baffled. Let's wait and see if someone else will chime in an can shed some light on this. Cheers, d.
  12. Hi @Fritz_H, back at my Affinity computer and tried what you describe in your first post. I cannot reproduce a 'and try to use the Hand/View-Tool to move the View around - does not work'. It just seems to work here. I think we have to further figure out what you are doing. Here's the steps I tried: Create a new A4 document with 5 pages set to 'facing pages'. In the Pages panel open the Master Pages section and click on the icon to add a master page. This Master B spread is shown in the main window. To use the same zoom level I hit CTRL+1 and zoom to 100% view. Switch to the hand tool by clicking on the icon (or hit 'h') and move the master page around. Double click on the page numbers of Pages 2,3 to bring them into view. The hand tool is still selected. Again hit CTRL+1 to be at the same zoom level and use the hand tool to move around. This works as expected. What are you by any chance doing different? Cheers, d.
  13. Hi @Fritz_H, there is a difference between clicking once on a page in the pages panel and double clicking on a page. Clicking once only selects that page but does not bring it into view. Only double clicking does so. I am not quite sure if this solves your problem, but this is what came first to my mind. d.
  14. Hi @MikeV, try menu 'View > Zoom > Zoom to Selection'. On Windows the shortcut is CTRL+ALT+0 (on Mac I assume it is CMD+ALT+0). Is that what you are looking for? You also could configure it's keyboard shortcut to something that meets your preference. It seems CTRL+5 is not taken. d.
  15. Hello @Engineer, the latest beta version introduced exactly this feature: merge documents d.
  16. Hi @Chiefmonkey, I appreciate the way you are communicating your position and contributing to the forum. d.
  17. Hello @pyxelles, welcome to the forum. Since you are new here at the forum I want to tell you from my expirience of reading and posting here for some time. The company does read the requests and I have seen many cases that proof that they do listen and they do not ignore requests. E.g. TGA format was introduced some time ago and with the latest beta version of Publisher the introduced an asked for feature called 'Collect Resources'. It will also be very easy for you to find threads about features that were requested for a long time. This cannot be denied. But this is not due to the fact that Serif does not listen to their users. Cheers, d.
  18. BTW, I'm not saying that the features you mention are not desirable. In the contrary. I share your notion that these would be welcome to have d.
  19. I'm not @haakoo but want to point you to one of several posts where this was stated: 'All developers and managers also read and participate on these forums. If they felt there was anything new or significative enough to add (disclose) to the discussion they would probably have done it by now.' The quote is from this post that explains even more how Serif's staff participates and communicates about feature requests: Cheers, d.
  20. Hi @Chiefmonkey, Serif is communicating very straight forward on what features are coming next or on what features are being worked on. This is done via the public beta versions. If it is not in the beta it is not coming soon. This may be not exactly what you are asking for in your first post but this is more of an answer than 'not communicating' Usually the beta versions run for a couple of months before they turn into an official release. That way you can tell some time ahead of what is to be expected. Everything else you are asking for - I'm sorry to put it that way and please take no offense - is very unlikely to happen. Cheers, d.
  21. Hi @Chiefmonkey, I did not take your post as a complaint but more as question. If you are looking around the forums you will find quite a few members of the develompent team who post regularly. They listen and they answer. It just something I learned over time that they are very hesitant to give a time estimate about coming features. And practically speaking: as long as it's not there it's not there and you have to find a workaround for it anyway. Knowing that you have to wait a certain time does not change anything You will see if someone from Serif chimes in. BTW: here's a recent comment on the whatabout of the roadmap: Cheers, d.
  22. I think I came across the same bug when testing a fellow forumster's example file (before I read your post): So basically this is just a confirmation of your finding. d.
  23. Hello @Pixel and Poly, out of interest I downloaded the sample file, to look at it. I opened it in the latest Beta version of APub (1.8.0.499). When double clicking on the text style 'TOC 1: Heading 1' APub immediately crashes. Question: did you save this file from the release version of APub? And, can anyone try to reproduce this with the latest Beta version? Perhaps this can help to find a bug to report. Sorry for not contributing to your original question. I hope in order to improve APub this is OK. d.
  24. I can follow you with this. Unless the layers panel is improved to filter out just artboards (and other things). This would be an different approach. d.
  25. Many thanks for explaining. I thought of something like this but just didn't try with a quotation mark ... and thus didn't find anything. d.
