  1. I am not quite sure if this might work for you: Press the spacebar. This switches to the Hand Tool and hides the bounding box. Moving the mouse (just moving without pressing it) brings the bounding box back again. d.
  2. That seems to be an important point. Even though these forums are very active I have the impression that only a minority of the actual users of Affinity software are even aware that these exist. Nor do they care to participate (and that of course is totally OK). OTOH some of the most requested (and discussed) features are also obviously (?) some of the most missing features d.
  3. Serif does not publish any ETAs. The only reliable sign that a new feature is about to be included in the near future is that it becomes part of a public beta. There is no voting feature and Serif have indicated that they set their priorities according to internal discussion (that to some degree may also include feature requests). Nevertheless they are monitoring the feature request section of the forum closely. So you can be sure they know about the features that have been suggested over and over again Cheers, d.
  4. In this regard you are certainly right. But I still like the idea to have both of these panels next to each other for certain e.g. initial setup procedures or during experimenting with colors. And as I mentioned it is a little limited without the capability to save workspaces. d.
  5. Sorry for jumping in. The situation and problem you describe seems reasonable to me. Did you ever for this particular scenario try one of the many offerings on the internet to convert from PDF to Powerpoint? https://www.google.com/search?q=pdf+to+powerpoint&oq=pdf+to+powerpoint&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l7.3982j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&safe=images Since you for yourself are happy with PDF this could be (after some testing) the missing link that is much more likely to work right away than AD exporting to Powerpoint at some time in an unknown future d.
  6. Hello @Pigs_On_The_Wing, you can have this already in some way. Note: you can have multiple panel panes next to each other by dragging around panels. If you drag out the Colour panel and move it to the left of the Swatches panel you will see at some point a blue line from to to bottom indicating a new panel snap position. The result looks something like this: Not bad in comparison to your mockup The only drawback: you can't save workspace layouts. You'll have to do this manually each time you want this setup. Cheers, d.
  8. To anyone who posted in this thread you might be interested to watch (or read) this elaborate tutorial on creating patterns in AD: https://affinityspotlight.com/article/create-repeat-patterns-with-a-live-pattern-preview-in-affinity-designer-for-ipad/ It was just recently published over at Affinity Spotlight and is really worth checking out d.
Cheers, d.
  10. Hi @Blaubär, you can use multiple master pages and rearrange them according to your stacking order. E.g. one master page with the elements that go onto the top and one master page that goes to the bottom. By default APub adds master pages to the bottom of the layers so you will have to rearange them. This requires a little planing beforehand. Only with a large page count it may become a little (or better: very) cumbersome. d.
  11. From the release notes of the current beta: I realise pressing the mouse wheel let's me move the canvas just as pressing the spacebar. Is the mouse wheel considered a 'middle button'? Also: pressing the mouse wheel does not change the cursor to a hand icon. Is this a bug? d.
  12. I want to support these suggestions, even though I don't consider them high priority. But very useful and desireable. Grouping can be achieved by some ways of naming the snapshots ... but only if those with the same name parts (preferably at the beginning) can be sorted together d.
  13. I, too, did some testing of the 'new and improved' Expand Stroke feature and this seems to be a very big improvement. Congratulations! I am sure some of the glitches (see above @Aammppaa's post) can be ironed out. Here are some of my test results (please note: under each of the blue objects there is an original unexpanded object in bright orange colour. Nowhere you see any of it bleed throug). d.
  14. Hello @Ridge and welcome to the forum. You most likely won't get a time estimate at what time footnotes (or endnotes) will be introduced. Serif does not publish such information. It is save to say that they are not in the current beta version und thus it will take some time. My personal guess is that it will take a little longer than many are hoping for. But that's just a guess. I do not have any information about that. Cheers, d.
  15. Hi @Pšenda, thankyou, now I understand. It's a valid point, but I think @carl123 just pointed out a solution (see above) d.
  16. Hello @notabene34, if I understand you correctly you are asking for a feature that is called to 'Indent to here'. According to this posting this feature is in the current beta version of APub: Cheers, d.
  17. Thank you for these detailed examples. Even though I have an understanding of the concept of document wide layers I missed real world examples in many of the posts on this topic (not just in this thread). d.
  18. Hello @juanborras, instead of hiding pages you specify on export which pages will be included. See @GarryP's screenshot from a couple of days ago (click on the quote to jump to the post): d.
  19. Hello @dla_001, I want to invite you to look around the forum, especially the Beta software forums here. You will find quite some cases where Affinity staff offered support as you describe it. Maybe not as fast as over night but within a considerate short time. d.
  20. Hi @Jaya72, welcome to the forum. I think it may make more sense to alter the space after the paragraph to the same value as the line spacing. You then can save this as a seperate paragraph style just for that kind of listing (and spare the 'Ignore space' setting). To have 'Ignore space for same styles' as a default would cause a lot of irritation for many users (in my opinion). d.
  21. Also, note the keyboard shortcut CTRL+k. This jumps to the layer of a clicked object if its not visible in the layer palette. d.
  22. I'm sure 'they' put the same effort into criticising their dandruff shampoo brand (not to mention car manufacturers). d.
