  1. Hi guys, I’m not sure if this is a bug or me. Footnote problem. Using Publisher 2.31 (not Beta) with Windows 10 I am not new to footnotes; in fact, I have been using them from PagePlusx9 and have been using your software well before that version. I’m not new to DTP and have successfully used your software to publish two commercial guides, several documents and a paperback novel and already have used the footnote command on V2 without problems. Working on a new document yesterday, and I could not get the footnotes to run sequentially. I was getting the second and third reference as 1 repeated again each time. I have the notes panel as per your PDF manual page 186, which I have used successfully before. I thought it might be just a hip-up so I rebooted the computer and started the whole document from scratch, including the master page setup, same thing. I have tried moving the reset every to all the other options to no avail. In fact, I selected ‘document’ and it started to run sequentially, but this time doubling the numbers, so I was getting 11; 22; 33; 44 instead. I had to use custom to get what I wanted. Please tell me I’m doing something wrong, because I can’t see what I have changed certainly not changed options, etc., since first receiving V2. All the best with the success of your software, it’s great.
  2. Hi, I would appreciate some help with foot notes not counting sequentially, had them working on an older document and the notes panel reads exactly the same. It is not that I'm new to footnotes. I used them regularly of Page Plus X9 and then we had a gap without them for a while. Like I say I have brought up the notes panel (V2) on the old document and the new reads the same, the old one is counting the new one isn't. The foot notes are going in but not counting. Notes panel : Footnotes: document wide: format 1,2,3 starting at 1. That's the top part anyway. Format, positioning and rules all read the same on both documents. Any suggestions please. Thank you in advance.
  3. Having trouble with footnote, they work but each time I try to adjust the line above, that is distance above and also stoke width, the program crashes. Not had this trouble with Publisher 2.1 ??? I'm using windows 10 Thank you
  4. Hi, just doing a list within a table and ran centre text vertically, (all selected) one column did correctly, in another column some moved into the centre some didn't. Tried separately text didn't move at all, and clicked on other settings and still the text didn't move. They seem to be stuck on 'text at top' setting. Ran the same sequence in the original Publisher 2.1.1 and it worked.
  5. Odd grey Squares and rectangles are on some pages (not all) they appear at the end of the blue page continuation and they do not disappear with view mode. I have not had this before and it isn't that I haven't used Affinity before and Page Plus before that. Help how do I turn these off and what happened to turn them on in the first place?   6. I did ask this question before, but I had sent it through to Photo topics. I'm transferring some files over from PPX9 and put the assets on the pasteboard (now Canvas). Every time I move from page to page the assets disappear from view. They are still there, but I have to keep going to view and clip canvas to turn it back on. Is there a way of setting this through presences? Using Windows 10 version. Could not find this in search topics. It is just a bit annoying and makes this work slow. Can anyone help please?
  7. I also, have had problems with this topic and have watch the 393660277 video several times and had difficulty in finding them in Photo after making them. Hi, I have recently followed along with your Photo template video tutorial to make a new size template. I have all three Affinity programs and using Windows 10. The templates store into a folder and show within a template folder when viewing in normal file explorer but when trying to access them directly from Affinity Photo, there is nothing showing in the folder and the dropdown doesn’t look for file extensions. I got over the immediate problem by just using Publisher with a photo frame but I can’t see what is wrong. I’ve followed your video and if I get the frame size loaded, the moment you load the photo it reverts to the photos original size???? Can anyone see where I’m going wrong or is there something else going on?
  8. I've just downloaded the latest updates, I was hoping that footnotes would be included in the Publisher download. Is to be in future updates? Ah well, perhaps back to PPX9 for this particular project. Shame I do like the new version. Bobcat
  9. I love some of the new items within Affinity Publisher, I’m trying to pass over some of the files from PagePlus X9 . At present trying to load 35 chapters of an unfinished book into a new setup. I have cleaned the text up prior to pasting into new document set up. Overall, getting there, I still get some formatting glitches. The latest one is the drop cap, it doesn’t work as your video instruction. Frustrated because I am trying to do a drop cap on the first paragraph, and the problem being I have a one line title 2 lines above, and that is the one that keeps getting the drop cap. I altered some settings and now it will not do any, even though the drop is set to 2. I type in drop cap with Affinity Publisher help search … nothing. Trying to find out what I’m doing wrong here. I love Serif Affinity Photo and Designer programs and had legacy programs for years, but this has been the most difficult to convert to. Using Windows 10 More help files please.
  10. I also expected ‘Enable spreadsheet functions’ to be included, I also have today had one cell that refuses to do anything but top align and will not budge??? Where do we actually format each cell? Can we have some more tutorial videos please?
  11. I can't seem to format cells within the table, i.e., add currency and to be able to add or multiply cells as per usual in tables. Can't find anything in help file and your video blog doesn't cover it either. I am still trying to ween off PPX10 and hoping to go onto Affinity P. Any more help out there for tables?
  12. Page Plus X9 always let me paste in Autcad dwg files, I tried it on Affinity Publisher. Didn't work. I've use PagePlus for many years updating all the way up to PPX9 and write educational guides etc. I must ask, have you any intentions of allowing this in the future? Great follower of legacy programs and also love Affinity Designer and Photo. But would like to be able to insert small drawings and also transfer Page plus file over to new program.

I agree, I to have many PPP files and hours of work, I know that Affinity want to be taken seriously in the MAC market as well, but I have produced many a professional document in PPx9 or earlier versions. Now being told there is no intention of adding this file extension, well, it is Serif's own software after all, so why not. I love the legacy software and a great follower but just get the feeling we are being cast adrift. I read that PDF forms will not be included and also, at present, I cannot paste Autocad DWG. into this program, whereas, PPX9 does it straight off. Are we getting better? One thing is very welcome is the widow, orphan tab and a more robust baseline grid. I am sure some of this stuff will be sorted. I say Serif, please think again on ppp files.
  14. I have the same problem, I have so many PagePlus ppp files. I was hoping to load (or expected ‘Import’). ppp files and carry on seamlessly . Please make this available. There are other useful things (tools) I can’t find, that were well used within PPX9. Will keep trying, after all, have been looking forward to this program for a while. Wisper3
  15. Why can't I find and load page Plus Legacy files, I have loads of them and have been using PP X2- X9 for years, mostly for writing educational guides etc. and changing them into PDFs. I was hoping to be able to glide seamlessly, straight into Affinity, the same as Affinity Photo and Designer does with legacy files. I really don't like the idea that I may have to transfer text manually, just to be able to continue. Unless I have missed something being a newbie to this program today. If not can this be done? After all, I have been looking forward to the launch of this program. Wisper3

  17. Hi, I also am having trouble getting into this core skills site. This is so unusual for Serif. I have been using Serif products since PagePlusx2 also with Drawplus. Have just bought the wookbook, along with the program and would like to follow the book. Trying to convert from DrawPlusX8 , Also don't see the replicate tool, but I guess we have to do that differently too. Any Help would be appreciated. Many Thanks
  18. Clicked to open Affinity and it has a new dialogue box asking to download an update. Press it and it only opens this forum page. So where is this upgrade?? Haven't put the program through any real use as yet but hope to spend a bit of time on it weekend. Whisper3
