  1. This seems to me such a small thing to change, yet it makes so much of a difference!
  2. Perfect, another restart helped... No other issues so far, I am very happy with the improvements in 1.7 alltogether... Could it be, that small selected items are easier to grab and drag, instead of hitting some transformation? Or is that some kind of placebo-effect?
  3. After the update: the menu option of "Edit with Photo" in Designer is greyed out, while "Edit with Designer" in Photo works. Opening the same Designer-file with Photo from file is no problem. Both are most current 1.7 versions. This does disrupt the workflow (Windows btw)
  4. Is there any news on this? I created a logo that needs to be refined, I had to search a long time for the right brush. Now I had to reinstall and the copy I made for the brush ist thus gone. Now I have no clue, what brush is used... This could surely be easily fixed; how come this has been asked for for years and nothing has happend? I'd think this is rather a bug than a feature request...
  5. I found this has been moved. I was not sure, where to post because it is the same in AP and AD and like it is it feels like a bug If there is a better workaround or way to do it that I have not figured out yet I would be happy to learn about it Another idea for a solution would be to have a designated move tool in addition to the tool we have now, while the versatile function of the known tool stays intact.
  6. I only found a thread on this concerning the tablet-version, where it has app. been fixed. Moving small objects with pen or mouse on PC is troublesome, because you cannot grab the object without hitting resize etc. handles. The workaround of zooming in does not work well when having to move the object across large areas, deselecting and instantly moving when hitting the object again does not work when the object is beneath another or in a group. Would it be possible to have an extra handle for moving that always works, and/or having a key to only be able to move the object when it is pressed? I had to move tons of thin lines and small text and objects in AD today and it was really, really tiresome to always have to "workaround" some way!
  7. I think the image shows the state quite well: the folder is set to "large" (cut off icon on top) and the large icons show as blank "paper" instead of icons or thumbs.
  8. Very strange. It seems to work one time, the other time it does not. Without any changes to the system in between.
  9. It is set to "large" and shows large blank "pages" with the filenames beneath instead of the thumbs. SVG also has thumbnails in explorer. But it seems to work now, or for now, she says. I am not sure what is going on there Will come back to you if anything changes again...
  10. On a Win10 system of a friend the thumbnails were blank only in the open dialogue windows. Done: * Purge Thumbnail Cache * Install SageThumbs so far no change Then: * The last Win10 function update had not been installed, so I had her do that. done that, the thumbnails appeared in all open dialogue windows except in AD It seems, that thumbnails are still only generated when the folder ist opened in explorer directly, but in all apps except Affinity after that they are shown in the open dialogue. Any ideas?
  11. Thanks for rolling back the new Wacom implementation. Now the pen works again...
  12. Can't install these betas AP and AD with error: "administrative rights needed to install into this directory" - I am the only admin on the Win10 PC and also tried starting the installer with elevated rights. Any ideas? This is the first time this happens with an Affinity installer. Edit: strange, after uninstalling the previous beta the folders were still there and could not be deleted. I used an unlocking tool and was able to delete the folders. After that I could install the new betas.
  13. Win 10 64 - in this AP as well as AD beta with the rewritten Wacom input drawing with the pen is completely broken. No matter what color or brush, nothing happens. With the mouse everything works, in the stable versions everything works. Wacom is Intuos with most recent drivers.
  14. I can't seem to be able to cut the content of a selection from a pixellayer (in this case a layer within an artboard). This applies to AD as well as AP on Win 10. I tried "del" key as well as Ctrl-C I have no idea what the issue could be. The impression is, that the key is always applied to the layer-panel instead of the selection.
  15. In my screenshot https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/29090-empty-space-between-the-tools/?p=155570 tools are docked...
  16. Das ist recht eindeutig etwas, was unter Mac und Windows derzeit verschieden ist. Oder hast Du auch Windows? Ich denke nicht, dass es ein Bug ist. Das mit der Sprache war ja ein Witz.
  17. The video tutorials are really helpful! https://vimeo.com/Affinitybyserif/collections
  18. Usually to support thumbnails for a variety of formats in Windows some custom codec (videos) or app must be installed. e.g. SageThumb extends the range to many formats incl. PSD etc. that are not supported out of the box. To see SVG thumbs there is another third party tool that needs to be installed etc. But maybe if a thumb is saved with some unknown format in a specific way windows 10 picks it up? I am not sure if I ticked the option to save thumbs with the files around the same time I installed XnView so it may be unrelated to XnView.
  19. Not only the seperator - the amount of tools available is 3x larger than in my screenshot ;) I don't think thats a language thing, rather: maybe you are on Mac, and it's not there (yet) on Windows?
  20. @dutchshader Are you sure it does this out of the box? I only started to see thumbs in Explorer after XNview created the thumbs - I was under the impression that Explorer simply picks up the thumbs created elsewhere. Same goes for Freecomander
  21. If this is about a home office based full time job as an employee and you know how to operate Adobe products and they require you to use Adobe products it can maybe be arranged, that the employer pays for the Adobe subscription as they would have to if you worked in their office space. I think it is important - concerning the first contact - that you have the skills, not that you own the software yourself. Of course if you go for self-employed you would have to own / subscribe to the software yourself. Maybe if someone requires you to use Adobe products, you could subscribe for a short amount of time as needed and include that in your price calculation. Usually it should suffice to deliver the product as PDF for print or SVG/PNG/JPG etc. for screen use. Then nobody should care, how you achieve the results and you could go forward with using your preferred apps.
