Hi Would it be possible for the crop tool to remember the last used crop ratio. I always use 'original ratio' and I have to keep reselecting that on every new photo. I see that you now have 'darken border' pre-selected and that is good. Thanks. Keep up the good work.

At the moment if I want to design business cards and Christmas cards and such like I have to revert to PP. Is there an intent to provide AP with similar templates to PP. PP makes designing folded publication very easy. Similarly with business cards, design one and PP populates a complete page with the design. Thanks and Merry Christmas

WOW again! Exported pdf with no bother - AND it brought up my pdf viewer. Never done that before. Great job guys.

WOW!! It actually installed with no problem. Don't know if that's luck or the dev guys have changed something. Anyway good job. Now to test stuff.

I used to have the same problem from a couple of updates ago. Tried to uninstall previous version, but said install was from removable disc - which was a load of twaddle! Had to force uninstall previous version, then new version would load. No answer why that should happen is forthcoming. May help.

Went to uninstall, told me it couldn't uninstall as it had been installed from a removable device. That was a load of twaddle, I made sure I installed from the download directory. Again, had to force uninstall the old version, then the new version installed correctly. At least I know what to do now.

Setup failed again. I would like to know why. Seems I'm the only one so far. Windows 10/64 SetupUI.log

I am now running .167 Force uninstalled .145, new install went fine. Registry keys pointed to the downloads folder, so don't know what was going on. Thanks for your time. p.s. I think previous pic was a bit big!!

Guess what. Still getting setup failed. Not got a lot of hair left! Tried restarting. I notice there is nothing about curing setup failed in updates and fixes. Perhaps they've not noticed!

Now 145 is saying its expired and 162 won't install. Need an update by the end of the day!!

Just adding my also failed install. But luckily didn't removed .145. So still using that. Hopefully be an update soon Windows 10 - 64

Please could you make the cropping tool and 'darken border' sticky, so that they remember selections from one edit to the next. I invariably crop to original ration and darken border. When I have 20 or so photos to crop that is 2 extra selections per photo and cropping ratio is on the left side of the screen and darken border is on the right. A lot of extra work. The export function is brilliant, it remembers the previous selection for the whole of the session, please do the same for cropping. Thanks.

I hope they don't up the price. Have been saving up for a couple of months for AP. If they up the price it'll be further out of my reach. I dream to be able to buy Publisher as well, so the longer it takes to come out gives me more time to save.

When I have a lot of photos to edit, it's great that the export settings are remembered from the previous export. Can you make the cropping tool and 'darken border' selection behave the same way please. It will make my workflow so much easier and quicker. Thanks for a brilliant product.

I do a lot of cropping of my photos. I take a lot of photos of cats and it's hard to frame the subject at the time of shooting as there is very little cooperation! Could you make it possible to set the preferred cropping format a default setting. i.e I mostly use 'original ration' so I have to select that every time. Also the 'darken border' selection, can that be selected to be either always on or off. Again I have to always select that before cropping. Apart from those niggles, you have done a fantastic job with Affinity Photo.

I know it's really early days yet, and publisher is just a twinkle in your eyes, but will it be able to read serif publisher files? I have a hard disk full of Serif pub files and obviously I wouldn't want 2 publisher progs taking up valuable space. Just thought I'd get my request in early! Thanks.

Tried this, but I found it is the other way round. i.e drag the cropping object into the object to be cropped, then it worked.

Thanks for the replies Just seems a funny behaviour. Makes you think you have two overlapping text frames. But now I know about it....

When you have some text in a frame, it's possible to make the frame smaller than the expected size of the frame with no indication of text overflow. All the text 'Look good in a floppy hat and other fashion tips' is actually inside the text frame selected.
