I just finished downloading from the link you sent and it opened Affinity designer trial version 1.4.3, not a beta version!

Firstly, I think this post warrants an explanation. We released Affinity Designer 1.5 to the Mac App Store today and found a serious issue printing in macOS Sierra and also we already had an issue pending with the Export dialog, so we immediately fixed both problems and pushed another build to Apple and they (incredibly quickly) reviewed it and released it a few hours ago. Since creating the 1.5.1 version, we also became aware that a small numbers of users seem to be seeing other critical issues and our aim is to resolve these as quickly as we possibly can and make these fixes available to customers immediately in the form of the 1.5.2 Beta. Once these critical issues appear stabilised we can then push this update to the store so that all users will be able to use the App Store version.

Requirements: Purchased Affinity Designer

Mac App Store: Not Submitted

Download: 1.5.2 Beta 1 Here

 

This beta is intended to fix any critical issues found in the current App Store version and should be considered to be more stable than the App Store product.

 

To use this beta, simply download the file from the link given above and double-click on the file to open the installer. Follow the instructions to install the beta version. The beta sits alongside the Mac App Store version and will not interfere with it.

I downloaded this and when it opened it said Affinity Designer Trial!

Hello again Chris_K - I found it! But this is more than weird. When I disable 36 fonts from my list - Affinity Designer works - but when I try to disable them one by one it still crushes. So the solution for now is to have my 36 fonts killed and I can work. I attached screenshot with my fonts list - greens are the one that disabled make AD work.

And thank U for such a quick help - I can work again with my favorite app! Yaaay!

How did you do it as it looks in the screen shot that your AD opened! I have not been able to even install mine! Help!!

I tried reinstalling it again, but I get the same message. Please tell me how to go back to the older version I had that worked perfectly, the one i bought back in 2014!

Can you please attach the crash report or upload it to somewhere and share a link here?

I'm not sure you can already attach files/images as a new user (this restriction is lifted after a few posts) but in case you can here's how to do it.

 

Can you also try to press ⌃(ctrl) while launching the application from the Launchpad, then check all boxes and press Clear from the dialog that will open to reset the app?

Does it still crash after the reset?

I launch from the dock! I tried to launch the prograam while holding control and checked all the boxes, pressed cleaar, and got the same internal error message.
