  1. I agree, I tested and confirm. By drawing slowly, the "corny" behaviour does not occur, only while making quick strokes. I tested the same in ClipStudio and SketchBook Pro. No such problems there. It's only in Affinity Photo and Designer.
  2. They keep on crashing, both both Designer and Photo 1.61 (Win10). Still, I want to use them... so keep on debugging..
  3. Aammppaa Cealcrest GarryP retrograde , thank you for commenting! I am not the kind of illustrator that keep within a limited style. I use different ways of expressing myself in my pictures. Sometimes I use ink, ink and wash, acrylics, watercolour, sometimes colour pencils, graphite, digital bitmap tools and vectors, animation, video or photography, even clay and other sculpture material.... I got no style What I do is trying to tell some kind of stories using the means and materials that are at hand for the moment. Affinity Photo and Designer are such a great combination of software. I have experimented some to find out how to use them. Now I know most of it. I use them all the time now. Great software.
  4. I like this one and also the motorcycle one you showed before! Great job!
  5. So far... nine illustrations made using Affinity Photo (and a little Designer). They are to be found on my Instagram (henrystahle) and I am using #affinityphotoillustration to show they are basicly all bitmap illustrations. The latest are from my recent project, an interactive app for Android and iOS. Me as an illustrator + a coder (LUA + Corona) that also animates and such. In Affinity I can use the slicing function for exporting, that is a big thing, it makes the work work, and easy exporting... Happy for that.
  6. Hi, I just started a new hashtag on Instagram: #affinityphotoillustration. I decided to do that because I am working on a picture book / app starting to use Affinity Photo instead of Photoshop. I will show some of my illustrations, all bitmap, no vectors, done in AP. It would be nice to see more illustrators using AP presenting art under the same #affinityphotoillustration tag. To get to now about you, to learn how you use this software and to get inspired from each other. See you on Instagram!
  7. I tried this out on my only tablet, and old Wacom Intous 4, and my old Win 10 computer, the stabilizer works correct on my computer.
  8. New Beta 88 cropping tool works fine at any zoom sizes. Handles stays the right size. And I agree with Affwin: RAW about 4 seconds. Good! (Win 10 computer...)
  9. https://www.webpagefx.com/blog/web-design/how-to-color-inked-line-art-in-photoshop/ This is a method that I can use in Affinity Photo. There is also the "Sample all Layers" in PS, to be used if there are no gaps in the line art. In ClipStudio it is even more and better options for flat fills. How about adding better fill options in Affinity Photo? (I know I can use Affinity Desiger for making flats, but I to like stay in Photo all time.)
  10. This is the only thing that keeps me not using Affinity Photo or Designer as my illustration program number one:
  11. My vacation series of photos, or any other raw photos from this camera, are not able to process / develop in latest beta of Affinity Photo (and has not been in any other version before). The heavy lens distortion and vignette are hard to correct manually in AP. My camera is Canon Powershot G7X Mark II. I use Windows 10. Still, I can open my photos in CameraBag Photo and make everything ready there and later import the photos into AP for som editing if I need. I can also use my Android tablet by converting my CR2 files to DNG and make the RAW development in Snapseed ... Not being able to use AP for my raw-shooting is no good.
  12. Very well done! Bringing these moments closer to your time.
  13. Oh! The Söt böök is just the brand of sketchbook I use...I buy it online from PenStore Stockholm. And thanks for commenting on this sketch. I like Frankentoons brushes.
  14. I used my ink- and charcoal sketch from my Sot book in Affinity Photo. Edited it using Frankentoon's great textures and patterns. This attached picture is the result.
  15. I notice this mouse pointer disappearance too while using the stroke stabiliser. The stroke stabiliser works well although. I have really been waiting for it. :)
  16. I was on vacation with my Canon Powershot G7 x Mark II, a great camera to carry around in your pocket! A real vacation and street shooter camera. Unfortunately I can not use Affinity Photo for the development of the CR2 raw files that comes out of this small wonder of camera since the lens correction in Affinity Photo does not work yet. Instead I use CameraBag Photo on my Win 10 or Surface Pro or Snapseed or VSCO on my Android tablet (or phone) to develop and edit. Lens correction is correct in those apps. :)
  17. I just found out that my new Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II is not listed in Lensfun. It is not possible to use Affinity Photo for a manual correction, so I use Canon Digital Photo Professional 4 to convert the files... I have to wait for the database upgrade.
  18. This "erase with any brush" / "paint with aplpha" is easy done in Affinity. First select the eraser tool, next select the paintbrush you use, and off you go! Switch between keyboard E and B to erase or paint. :)
  19. https://bigbadspanish.com/blog/Sprite-sheets-games-Affinity-Designer I just happend to stumble upon this. I am designing bitmap sprite sheets. After reading this blog I understand a little more about the benefits of using vectors for the design. So I will try some Designer designs and try to get them moving...
  20. Very good idea! I use my scanned sketches a guide all the time...
  21. Request: Changing layers thumbnail size and transparent checkerd background, please! The very tiny layer thumbnail is no good for a quick visual while searching for the right layer. I use to give all layers a name, but sometimes while I am cutting an pasting line art from layer to layer, it is just too hard to find out where to go... and the very ark background makes it impossible to distinguish the line art from the thumbnail background. Three different thumbnail sizes like Small, Normal and Large would be nice. A background like in ClipStudio would be even better (see attached file)! But both, it would be great! Thank You!
  22. Hi sirhans, I do not use artboards, only single images. The exported slices with the json script ends up as good as it does from Photoshop. The exported json script coordinates from Affinity is what I use for the (automated) setup in Spine and for the programmer use in LUA. Anyway I have to test the artboard slice export, since artboard would probably be of good use for me, to see what the script file looks like after slice / script export.
  23. Here is another result of my Tone Mapping experiments in AffP. Down at Otteros beach and across the water the small fishing village at Glommen.
  24. I have never been fond of Tone Mapping, until now, Most tone mapped pics I have seen before have always been overdone and looked really strange to me. Since I started to understand how to in using AffP Tone Mapping tools I find it very interesting and rewarding. This is one example...I hope you like it, Moos old farm next to where I live.
