  1. Sorry, the Brother that won't work is a Brother MFC-5890CN, but I have checked it and it works on other programmes
  2. The printer which does not crash is an Epson PX720WD Cheers Jon. Good luck with the Brother one!
  3. Hi Jon - attached is the doc - it's just text and a simple menu 0n 100x150 card, so as simple as can be! I have clicked the "Send Crash report" box on each failure. vijal menu.afdesign
  4. Hi - For info. I have drawn up a simple menu card. If i try to print on my Epson, no problem. I also have a Brother, and if I try to print the same document on this, I get an error box pop up stating: Unhandled Exception Error 0x80004003 I then have to close the programme. The drop-down detail box on close-down has this info: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: CLR20r3 Problem Signature 01: Designer.exe Problem Signature 02: 1.5.0.4 Problem Signature 03: 577681c0 Problem Signature 04: Serif.Interop.Persona Problem Signature 05: 1.5.0.4 Problem Signature 06: 577681a2 Problem Signature 07: 59cf Problem Signature 08: 0 Problem Signature 09: System.NullReferenceException OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: eb66 Additional Information 2: eb66ceaf2b84bee5fb1e9fe5f8f65343 Additional Information 3: 26be Additional Information 4: 26be0941952e5092ba45aa66a0d49b50 Read our privacy statement online: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt
  5. Hi Mark - Two updates on that link - one says not applicable to my computer, the other says already installed. Sorry Chris - can't make any more posts until tomorrow due to your forum limit of 5 a day! So this is what i wanted to reply to your next post: Hi Chris - You may don the detective's Deerstalker. Although the C++ redistributable was shown as being there, it must have been corrupted because it would not repair. I downloaded a fresh version from your link, and now Affinity opens! Thank you - I can now have a look at your handiwork. Thanks to you and your colleagues for everything
  6. Hi - Update set to Auto, so should be smack-bang up to date. Last update was last night.
  7. Hi- OK, so.... Downloaded and installed Microsoft.NET Framework for the link provided It installed fine. Tried to install Affinity again. First up I got a window pop up saying Prerequisite installation C++ redistributable. This then disappeared and another window popped up in its place saying "Prerequisite installation failed" I clicked on the install icon again, to try installing once more. the installation Window came up and it started the install. Ran all the way through to "Finish", which i clicked. I then clicked on the desktop icon it had created and got a window saying "Designer has stopped working. I uninstalled the programme and went through the entire process again, with the same end result, although on the second attempt, I did not get the window stating that C++ installation had failed. In the detail drop-down on the failure window was this: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: Designer.exe Application Version: 1.5.0.2 Application Timestamp: 5773d990 Fault Module Name: KERNELBASE.dll Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.23418 Fault Module Timestamp: 5708a89c Exception Code: e0434352 Exception Offset: 000000000001a06d OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: 7ccb Additional Information 2: 7ccb2fa98342573c8a26d5624a3b51e6 Additional Information 3: 190f Additional Information 4: 190f20a13b45e928ac5633f14be8f0f1 Read our privacy statement online: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt
  8. Hi - Got the Beta Download this morning, and tried to install it immediately. Yes, I am that excited. Downloaded fine, but the first step on install is a window saying: Installing Prerequisite: Microsoft.NET Framework. The green loading bar gets to halfway (very slowly I should point out) then just hangs. I have to use Task Manager to close it down. I have tried shutting down, restarting and trying again - same result.
