    Where do I get support?
The best place for asking questions, reporting bugs and requesting features is right here on our forum – this is where we all hang out:

     · Questions
     · Report a Bug on Mac, Report a bug on Windows and Report a Bug on iPad.
     · Make a feature suggestion

    What are the system requirements?
OS X Mavericks (10.9) or above for Mac and Windows 7 (SP1) and above for MS Windows – but you can see the full spec for Affinity Designer here and for Affinity Photo here

Is it available to buy for Windows?
Affinity Designer for Windows is available to here, and Affinity Photo for Windows is available to buy here and both are also on the Windows Store here. We support 64-bit editions of Windows 7 (SP1), 8.1, and 10.
If you have bought any Affinity apps for the MacOS or Windows or iPad and want to run on one of the other platforms also, you will need to purchase additional licenses for those other platforms.

    Are there trial versions available?
Yes, there are free 10-day trials for Mac and Windows available on our site, with Affinity Photo at affinity.serif.com/photo/trial and Affinity Designer at affinity.serif.com/designer/trial.

I've used my trial, can I have another?
No, unfortunately not. The trials need to be secure to prevent abuse, so even though your wish is for an honest evaluation we cannot circumvent the trial checking built in to the app. If you installed a trial of Affinity Photo or Affinity Designer before, you can only use a future trial when it is updated to reflect new features (1.6, 1.7, 1.8 etc). The customer beta versions of Affinity apps do not offer an additional trial period and only work for paid customers.

What is Affinity Photo Plugin support like?
We are currently working with some plug-in manufacturers to make their plug-ins fully compatible with Affinity Photo. We will keep you updated on our progress. We would also love to know which plug-ins you would like to see made compatible with Affinity Photo.

Do you plan to have Web site design/Digital Asset Management/animation/video editing products too?
We’re not sure yet! but we are very interested in adding a DAM solution to the Affinity suite in future.

Do you produce apps for iPad?
Affinity Photo for iPad is available from the iOS App Store here.
Affinity Designer for iPad is available from the iOS App Store here.

Do you have any tutorials or handbook available?
We have the Designer Workbook available to purchase here and the Photo Workbook here. We also have a comprehensive set of video tutorials, you can find our growing collection here . Due to high design and production costs each Workbook is only available in English and in German, with no plans for otther languages.

Are Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher available in any languages other than English?
    Yes, each apps already includes
English (US and UK), German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese (Brazilian), Japanese, Russian,
and Chinese (Simplified). Language is chosen for you automatically and you can also change it in Preferences > General.

How does the pricing work in different countries?
We set the price in USD for sale within the USA, and from there the price shown in other countries and currencies is set by Apple based on a matrix they use. We have no control over that matrix or any updates Apple may make to it in the future. Our Affinity Store matches these prices for Windows to make the sale price the same.

Are Affinity Windows apps available to buy outside of the Affinity Store?
Yes, Affinity Designer for Windows and Affinity Photo for Windows are available on the Serif Affinity Store and also the Windows Store.
Are Affinity Mac apps available to buy outside of the Mac App Store?
Yes, Affinity Designer for Mac and Affinity Photo for Mac are available on the Serif Affinity Store and also the Mac App Store.

This also applies to educational and other volume license sales — Serif operate volume purchase programs for organisations to reduce costs and simplify distribution and management, which you can find our more about for business here and for education here.

Is there anywhere I can download a cheat sheet showing the shortcuts for Affinity apps?
Yes there is! You can download a full list of default shortcuts for the Affinity apps in this Affinity Spotlight article  (where you will find printable PDFs and also the Affinity Designer source files for English and German keyboards in case you want to include your own customized shortcuts).

Can I use the Affinity logo and name for my website/channel/product/service?
We really appreciate and encourage activities that support Affinity software so we're pretty fair about trademark usage, but naturally there are limitations. We want Affinity users to be confident about what content is created by Affinity and what is created by third parties, our guidelines in this short PDF (English only) make things quite clear.

    Hello,

selecting tool using the keyboard is really challenging. Indeed, pressing the appropriate key will most of the time give you a different tools.

Example: press P. Did you get the pen tool or the node tool ?

Press B: Which one did you get ? no ones know.

I tried today once again to use Affinity in my workflow but I failed. Unfortunately.

It crashes several times, I did a wonderful path with the node tool which I could not convert to a selection afterwards, and keep fighting a brush... and was not able to get a black/white brush..

In the end, I did my gradient and mask in PS in less than 2 minutes..

Let's hope, it will change in Affinity 2.0

    Hi;
I've noticed that I cannot make multiple selections. I mean, I use the marquee tool to select an area, then press Shift and use the marquee tool in a different area. The first selection area dissappears. This happens with any selection tool, including magic wand.
    Missing something?

    Thanks;

CeciliaFum reacted to vagrant in Nouvelle vue (or new view i guess...)
Hi everybody. I'm back with a little trouble.
In the Raw developper, under "Affichage" (sorry i'm french on a french mac by the way, which is probably why i cant find an answer on the forum) i have the "Nouvelle vue" and "Vues". I suppose it translate into "New view". This action duplicate my raw. I expected to be able to keep one version in that current state, change the other, and compare the two. Unfortunately both my versions stay the same. Any action modify both of them. Is this a normal behavior? What is the point of having twice the same image?
    Am I missing something?
    I hope i'm clear enough.
By the way last update is done i'm on the 1.3.5

    Thanks for your answers

CeciliaFum reacted to moonliner in Freehand equivalent actions
Hi, I'm testing the Affinity trial. There are a few FH features that I am trying to find equivalents of or duplicate. (As a loyal ex-Freehand user I've been eagerly following Affinity news from the FH users page.)

    1) Please see attached screen grab. I have created the desired result shown, but would like to know if there is an easier way that I am missing. Do do this in Freehand, you merely attached text to circle, placed cursor where you wanted to break text, hit return, and the text after the cursor would jump to bottom, wrapped outside circle identical to top text, with text reading upright.

In Affinity, typing text on a circle results in the text beginning inside the circle, centered 90 degrees to the right from top center. Changing text alignment to left or right yields results shown. Hitting return causes text following the cursor to jump to opposite side of circle, but outside the path. Reversing the path direction does the same.

To create the final desired result, I rotated the entire text/circle manually, 90 degrees counter-clockwise, to get the text on top. I then hit return selected the bottom text, and repeatedly adjusted the baseline with keyboard shortcuts until it eyeballed as close to the path. Is this the only way to do this? Or is there a shortcut?

    2) One of Freehand's best features was the ability to use the align tools on bezier nodes/anchor points. It doesn't appear that Affinity does this, but it's a really cool feature to consider for upcoming updates. It makes symmetrical bezier drawing super simple.

    3) Are there any built in text effects? Extrusions? Warps?

Thanks. So far Affinity is looking nice and quick!

CeciliaFum reacted to rmc in apple photo raw/jpg how to manage it the best?
I'm a new user from Germany.
I started working with Apple Photo an Affinity Photo. I'm asking myself whether my handling with raw and the both apps is already the best, how to do it, or is there any way better, to do it:
I'm importing in Apple Photo just the raw-file. For the view of course a jpeg is created by Apple anyway. If i want now to develop in Affinity-App, i open the MediaBrowser, develop and export as jpeg with "sharing with photo". But now a new picture in Apple Photo is created wich has lost every information from Apple (moment Date etc.) and also is not in relation with the basic raw-image. That is not really comfortable, sorting has to be done manually, i've got to separate pictures etc.
Using the Affinity-plugins directly with the edit tool from in Apple-Photo from that point of view is better, because the "apple-jpeg" after developement and editing is replaced with the result of the PlugIn editing. But i want to use the Affinity develop persona in the app because of the better possibilities (Of course I'm waiting there also for a raw-Batch-processing, which hopefully is part of next updates)
Is there any way to create a raw-related jpeg from the app like it is created, when using affinity plugin from apple-Photo?

I hope my question is understandable (sorry for my english)...

CeciliaFum reacted to JonathanCopeland in 3D Perspective of a Project and it's layers
    Hello fellow Affinity fans!

I've just completed a multi-layered website design in Affinity Designer and would like to display each page at an angle to show how all of the different layers/planes relate to each other.

I've searched around and can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I tried using Affinity Photo's persecutive tool, but it destroys the quality of the site and doesn't enable me to do it in layers.

Attached is an example of what I'm trying to achieve

    Help?:)

CeciliaFum reacted to michaelwg in Affinity Publishing - footnotes and page imposition
Dear Affinity, I have been involved in photography and photographic publishing (for as long as I do not with to remember). I initially used Quark and then In Design. Because I work intensively for short periods of time I do not wish to use any longer the Adobe subscription system. There are two features which I would find very attractive and that would be to incorporate editable footnote / endnote facilities and perhaps, (for the moment asking quite a lot) a page imposition system which Quark do as a clunky, seriously expensive add on. They were and still remain an arrogant organisation only interested in serving larger publishing organisations and from some from my colleagues I have been informed "that the Leopard has not changed its spots".
