  1. I'm having the same issue as well. New Mac Studio (M1 Max), macOS Monterey, 32GB RAM. Takes awhile for the panel to update and show the styles. It's brutal. As the original poster mentioned, I've had other issues but this one is the most bothersome.
  2. I just restarted my laptop, made sure no Affinity applications were open with exception to the 1.10.5.270 Beta build of Affinity Photo, and am still experiencing the same issues with Metal enabled and a blank document open. There are no display issues if I have no documents open as you'll see in this new video which shows that I only have the Beta open. Please note that Designer and Publisher work fine with Metal enabled – it's only Photo. Affinity Photo 1.10.5.270 beta.mov
  3. Patrick- No luck, sorry. Still having the same artifacting, etc. And again, this is only with Metal enabled (w/ or w/o 'Enable Metal computer acceleration' checked). Affinity Photo 1.10.5.270 beta.mov
  4. FWIW, this point release did not fix the issues I was having. When I switch to Metal, it goes wonky. I can run the app in OpenGL w/o issue so no bother. I'm on a late 2013 MacBook Pro running MacOS Mojave (10.14.6) for reasons related to needing to keep Adobe CS5 still running. Waiting on a new Mac Mini to upgrade my system in the future.
  5. Attaching a screen recording. The wonky colors are magenta in person but it screen records greenish-blue. Regardless, you'll see the issue when Metal is turned on. Affinity Photo 1.10.3 OS X Mojave.mov
  6. Just updated all three apps to 1.10.3 and only Affinity Photo is having some wonky display issues only if I have a document open and with Metal enabled in performance. If I switch to OpenGL then my issues are fixed. I get a bunch of magenta colored striated lines and my menus are all blown out. I can't screen capture the issue so attaching a photo from my phone. I'm still running OS X Mojave (I know, I know) and have restarted my system as well.
  7. FWIW, I'm attaching the crash report from my Mac on the original files if this helps diagnose any issues. Process: Affinity Publisher [8444].txt
  8. I am able to open MikeTo's file w/o issue -- THANK YOU MIKE! I relinked the assets via Resource Manager, resaved, and it appears I can reopen everything w/o it crashing. I would still love to have a clue on why it's crashing from my original files since no assets have changed location or otherwise.
  9. Today I was trying to open two old Publisher files in the latest version (1.10.1) and it crashes immediately. Attaching files for review. This had happened to me in the past on another version of Publisher and I remember it having something to do with pinned graphics but I don't believe I have any pinned graphics in this simple 2-page document. 10. Holy hell, thank you. That ended up doing the trick. I kept the MAS open while killing that process and retried the update. Got to about 95% complete and hung there for a bit but eventually finished. I can't express how thankful I am for the help. Buy you a beer sometime!
  11. Partial progress but Affinity Designer won't update. After killing the 'appstoreagent' process, the App Store now showed the "Update" button next to Affinity Designer as opposed to the "Download from cloud" icon but it still just spins, and spins w/ no apparent progress to installing/updating. This is frustrating. I had contacted Apple Support yesterday and they indicated that I probably needed to update to Big Sur. I can't at the moment because I still require the use of my old InDesign CS5 apps and going to Catalina or Big Sur will kill that ability.
  12. I'm having this EXACT issue. Interestingly, Affinity Photo appeared to update to 1.9.1 successfully even though it never fully showed completing before I just quit the App Store. Affinity Designer never would update. The App Store now only shows the "download from cloud" icon but it does nothing. I'll try the suggestions above and report back.
  13. I simply opened the document to begin making some edits. At first I made a bunch of changes, hit CMD+S and Publisher crashed. I then got as simple as (1) open the document, (2) make one text change on page 1, (3) hit CMD+S, (4) crash. As a sidenote, I absolutely love your products over the same three from Adobe. Sure there are a few features here and there that I've come across that are missing for my needs but things I'm sure you'll add in time. Keep up the good work.
  14. I can report I'm having this exact issue this morning with what it appears you're describing above. A text box that I have on my Master page with some placeholder copy and a pinned icon is causing the crash. When I remove the pinned icon from the Master page, the document saves w/o crashing. These are documents I was working on recently w/o issue until the updating to the latest build (1.8.6). However, I was having a similar problem many months ago that I could never figure out so perhaps it was a related problem to this pinned object. At that time I just rebuilt the documents out of frustration.
  15. This just needs to be a menu option like Illustrator – something like Object => Offset Path => <enter value>. So much faster than this method.
