You would choose: Grey/8 or Grey/16 from the format options. -

Hi, I recommend subscribing to RetroSupply Co's website, they have lots of freebies for signing up and the second email i got from them included a free brush sets for Affinity, which included 10 Vector brushes for Designer :)

Hi, I don't get any kind of grid showing when i use the High pass filter, this looks like the layer at the top of your stack, shown on the screen shot: 'rule-of-thirds-phi-grid', is there a chance that this layer is duplicated somewhere and isn't unchecked? Maybe the High pass filter still detects it? What happens when you delete that layer? -

If your using Designer i like these tutorials by East coast charm using symbols : Create A Pattern Template In Affinity Designer Half Drop Repeat In Affinity Designer Using Symbols You can also create just a basic fill of a pattern using the Gradient fill tool and choosing bitmap fill from the 'Type' setting, in drop down list on the contest toolbar.

Hi I think you might need to expand the stroke and then the Boolean operation ‘Add’. Something like this tutorial Blob brush alternative for Affinity Designer it’s for the desktop but the Expand stroke and Geometry are under Edit on the iPad.

I would assume from this part of the comment that they are using Designer @R C-R so probably where the confusion is coming from, Designer is comparable to Illustrator not Photoshop, the selection brush and selection tools are in the ‘Pixel Persona’ you can click backspace to delete anything you have selected. Png is fine, in the export dialogue where it says Area, change to: Selection without background.

What file type did you export as? Choose a file type that supports transparency and make sure your not exporting the whole document just the selected graphic.

Any rough sketch would benefit from a reworking, try using the pen tool set to ‘Polygon’ and treat it like a dot to dot, creating the spiky edge look. If you have the fill colour on as you work, you won’t need to create a new layer for the colour.

Hi, Try adding the Diffuse Glow filter, you can get some lovely light effects with it and the Dust and Scratches filter is another one that can soften a photo to have a more cartoon look.

Thanks for feedback and tips @R C-R Yep i was wondering what to do with the adjustments layers, as i'm used to just dragging them down onto the parent layer, will need to have a bit more practice with macros but it was fun challenge

Hi bilboudo, I loaded about 15 of my own photos taken from my iPhone onto different layers, most of them are about 2MB size and set the new document as A4, there was a little bit of lag when moving and resizing after adding any more photos after 15, I’m on the IPad 2017 9.7inch and so I think you would get much better results on a IPad Pro.

Hi bilboudo I haven't noticed any lags or issues in the small time i've been using the programs since the update but i'm mostly using Designer and don't have many projects in Photo that are large with lots of layers.

You can get a similar effect by using the Bilateral blur on a colour copy of the image and increasing the Luminosity and reducing the Saturation, i then gave the B/W copy with the line drawing effect (from detect edges and invert) an overlay blend mode:

Hi, You might want to check this thread out: iOS 13.1 - cannot open .afphoto document on iPad 12.9 I've installed iOS 13.1 and Affinity programs work fine, i did backup all my work to Dropbox first in case of any issues.

Yep, a thanks from me too, would explain why it’s hit and miss depending on what I’m clicking on and I’m on a 9.7 inch iPad, so I’m guessing that’s why the small profile thumbnails are being cut off at the end of the list of threads.
