[Affinity Designer 1.5 sneak peek: Constraints and Symbols]

Symbols allow for per-instance overrides and specialisation (adding/deleting structure from each instance individually whilst still being able to add/delete from all instances if desired) :)

Hope that Symbols also permits per-instance overrides, like Illustrator does.  

 

(I apologize for using the beaten-to-death illustrator comparison, I only mention because Sketch also has Symbols, but they also cannot have overridden properties, which severely limits how they can be used for repetitive elements like providing UI comps with buttons in various highlight/select/disabled states)
