This feels wrong to me too! I had the same issue as you on the iPad. That was also the same problem I was having on the Mac destop version. To be able to duplicate them and move to a new category, I had to download the brushes files from the Affinity store and install them on the iPad. Maybe someone from Serif will chime in on this. -
@walt.farrell Thanks for the help Walt. I dowloaded and installed the Neptune brushes directly from the Affinity Store. They seem to be working as I expected they should now. I probably should have said this in my original post, but I am using V2 as well. I am having the same problem with the brushes on the iPad too. I will try the same procedure and see if it works there too.

I purchased Frankentoon Neptune Brushes from the Affinity website. I have been trying to duplicate a brush in the Neptune Ink category and move it to a favorites category. When I right click the brush, the only option that is not grayed out is move to new category. When I click on move to new category, all the options are grayed out. I contacted customer support at Frankentoon and the say it is an Affinity problem that is preventing me from duplicating and moving brushes in this category. It appears that other brushes I purchased or were given as free directly from the Affinity website may have the same problem. Brushes I purchased from the Frankentoon website allow me to duplicate and move them. Is it possible to duplicate and move a brush in the Neptune Ink to a new category?

Try going to preferences>user interface>show selection in layers studio. I think that should be what you're looking for.

If I try to select multiple layers on the layers panel by selecting the top layer and then double tapping on the bottom layer, it only selects the layer I double tapped on.

Where have all the original Affinity Designer tutorials on youtube gone? A lot of them were excellent for teaching the basics of AD.

In the 1.6 version on Windows, it was also necessary to switch to the node tool to reshape a curve.

Hi squirrelfire, If you hold down the control key while the pen tool is active, the pen tool will work as the node tool. When you release the control key, the pen tool reverts back to being the pen tool.

No. 1.7 is an upgrade. It will install over any previous installs of AD.

Pressure does work for vector brushes. Try looking in the context toolbar and see if pressure is selected for the controller.

Hi, The problem is when the iStock file is opened in AD, the image part of the file is not over the work area. If you zoom out a bit you should be able to see the image and use the move tool to reposition it in the work area. Edit: Same thing with the Shutterstock file.

Hi danklim, Try this. Go to File>New When the dialog box opens make sure to tick the box for Transparent Background. The file will then have a transparent background.
