  1. Does Affinity have, or will they have, any type of photo browser similar to Adobe Bridge? What do you use for a photo browser?
  2. I wish I could attach a screen shot, but that is still not working. The Help page shows extra nodes, and when one node is moved it curves all the sides of the star. I don't see those extra nodes, and I can figure out how to add them, and keep the basic star so the altered shape is reflected on all the points of the star.
  3. I see in the Help this image of modifying a star shape created with the Star tool. How is the node added that allows the shape to be modified as shown in the help file? I cannot get a jpg to attach to this post, so please look at Help/Draw and edit shapes. Look below to see the screen shot. I was able to finally do the attachment after a few days.
  4. I'm color blind and it's difficult for me to see the contrast between "on" and "off" with a toolbar item. I made the best adjustment I can find, and for me it's still not enough contrast. Please make this more adjustable in the future.
  5. I hope this gets faster in the future. It's 2 clicks and more time than it should be. Why couldn't it be; Select the object or objects and option click the layer where you want to move them, or something as easy and similar to AI's method.
  6. I know how to move objects from layer to layer in the layers pallet, but is there a way to select an object on the artboard and move it to another layer without needing to navigate through a potentially long list of objects residing in the current layer? Like AI works?
  7. The buy price was too good! Please add arrowheads soon. I'm going to learn the program, but without arrowheads it will be hard for me to do my work. Thanks.
  8. I draw technical illustrations with callouts. I'm ready to buy Affinity Designer, but it won't help me if I can't place paths with arrowhead ends to point to objects. I don't see arrowheads listed on the "roadmap." Any hope this will be coming soon? I continue to use AI CS 5.1, but it's on its last leg. Autodesk's Graphic has arrowheads, but the reviews are not that good.
  9. I will continue to watch the development of Designer and keep hoping I can use Designer in my workflow someday soon. Thanks.
  10. It appears these wish list items are not on your upgrade "roadmap," aside from arrowheads. I get the impression that Designer is a middle of the road vector program. Like I've said, I think it has a lot of potential, and I like it a lot, but I can't use it in my workflow (yet). Might I suggest a "Pro" version? I'd be glad to pay more $ to get a true Adobe Illustrator replacement.
  11. Have any of these "needs" of mine been addressed in the current version of Designer? I downloaded the current version trial and it appears not. Reading the forum I see others point out that there are no arrowheads. That too is a problem for me since I must set callouts on my drawings. Please don't get me wrong, I think Designer is a fabulous program, and one I hope to use in the future, but I need these features so I can work with it.
  12. Dear Serif, I want to complement you on creating a fantastic program in Affinity Designer Mac. I see it having so much potential, and that you really care about making it as great as possible, and all of that for $49.99! There are so many things I like about the program, and I see you've incorporated many of the things I found so useful when using FreeHand. I use Illustrator now, and so desperately want to move away from that. I do anticipate a day in the near future where I will switch to Affinity Designer. Here's what I need from Affinity Designer in order for that to happen: 1) Import DWG. I use Vectorworks to create my models for my illustrations, and its best 2D line export output is DWG. 2) Find and replace text. I do this too often in my workflow, so it's a must have for me. 3) A section lasso. I have to be able to draw around objects to select them and separate them from other objects. My imported DWG files can consist of 100,000 plus lines. I have to deal with them efficiently. 4) A simplify command with preview. Take a look at my illustrations to get an idea of how I would use the program. My site is www.draw.biz Thanks again. I will check back often.
  13. Is there a way to increase the contrast of a settings icon showing whether it is active or not? See my screen shot. It's hard for me to see the difference. I need it to have more contrast, or be different than the background color.
  14. Will there eventually be a linked file option to be able to return to the photo editor, make changes, then return to the AD file and the changes appear in the "linked" image?
  15. I can't pin it down, but certainly text snapping is a problem as you have confirmed. I'm just testing with this file. Things have stopped working with this file randomly, and my only fix has been to quit and restart. I can't say more than that. For now, let's just forget it until I can pinpoint the problem. One confusion I have is the use of snap candidates. Is there info you can provide about acquiring and using snap candidates? What makes them available, and when do they become unavailable?
  16. My problem with that file is overall functionality and responsiveness. Selecting objects is sluggish, and things just fail to work after a period of time. I had asked if the trial version is different than the paid version of Affinity Designer?
  17. Look at this post of mine. I think it answers the question. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/3461-snap-settings/
  18. I think it's something with the file I'm testing. It was created in Illustrator CS5. I attached it here. Please look at it. Test.afdesign
  19. This file was created in Illustrator and modified in Affinity Designer. Test.afdesign
