I am trying to use the rectangular selection tool to copy and paste a portion of a graphic image, but when I select cut or copy, it copies the ENTIRE image, not the selection !!!! PAIN IN THE #O*#&

Seems to be a problem with finder permissions and perhaps a third party software in the backend...

It is not saving the edits when I create them. this is just a screen shot. All I'm getting is a spinning wheel of death

I just upgraded to 2.0.4 Designer and it is not giving me the option to save as or save. It just scrolls and then no window pops up to say where to save it. TheStarrAgency-newlogo-2.svg

DOH! 🙂 I did not know arm64 was the M1 I thought it meant 64 bit vs. 32 bit. I've been on Macs since 1986, pre OSX, and pre 64 bit architecture. Thanks!

Yes I tried 1.2.1 which is the latest they had on their site, unless that is M1 Only.... they aren't very clear about which one would be intel

Don't know why. Mac 2019 with the current Monterey with the latest security update.

I downloaded the latest version and is shows with a No ENTRY symbol. Not supported on this version is the error message. I found a free Vectornator in the APP store. Will try it.

Is there a better way to vectorize a photo~!??

Okay, so I am running into a bit of a problem. I used a vectorizer program to create the image from a picture. You would think the natural fill are for the line filled with yellow would be the rest of the leg. In AI you would pour fill into that area, but I don't see the same function exactly. The fill with the line is filling outside the enclosed area. This is where AI would see the closed areas and fill it. Any ideas how best to proceed? This is taking way longer than I had hoped. Illustrator had a feature where you could allow unclosed vector lines whose gaps where minor to close for a color fill. Is there a feature like that for Affinity Design or Photo?

Thanks. Without knowing it, I had selected the Warp tool. Maybe by a keystroke. I never use the warp tool, as usually I am correcting trapezoidal distortions in photos.

Without knowing how or why, the Perspective Warp window has disappeared and I can't save the modifications by hitting return. I can modify the picture by dragging the corners, but can't apply them. I quit the program and restarted but still it is not reappearing. Any ideas? I don't see anything in the menu to bring it forward.

I found the macro in the library and I see the skies in the downloads folder, but am not sure how to apply them. There seems to be no dialog box to choose them.

So, I have Uplift add-on in Photo which were downloaded manually and i am trying to find them in the interface but cannot. There are other items listed in the assets panel, but even if I try to reimport them from the download they are greyed out like they have already been installed. I'm in Affinity Photo 1.10

When I am editing a file and have cropped it, and am trying to use the perspective tool or mesh tool, the handles are out of range and cannot be seen unless I zoom way out. IOW, I can't use the tool at full image size. The handles are off screen. VERY annoying.

I keep trying to put the cursor on the outside of an oval I've drawn, but it keeps placing text inside the circle and upside down. How do you reverse this or do it right? The circle converts to path when I click above it. But the text only goes inside. I'm on version 1.7.3 Same happens with text on a arc path.

Hey guys, when I was testing an early Beta of Publisher it was able to import an InDesign file directly, so I bought Publisher in anticipation of a complete escape from Adobe, but Publisher doesn't seem to be able to do that now. I read a thread that last year the ability to import IDML files was expected in weeks, but when I converted all my InD files in anticipation of Mac Catalina (my CS6 will no longer work) I found that they are still not importable. All greyed out. Where are we on this issue?

Okay, i see the problem. I drew a line with the arrow tool (accessed from the shapes). The line did not show an arrow head, but after looking at the last post I used the drag handles to make the line bigger and I could see an arrow head. I was actually trying to make the head a lot larger to look like the selection tool.

I'm using the arrow shape tool and set arrow head on 1 end, but no matter what settings I use I can't get it to show an arrowhead. Is this a bug?
