This is the first time I use Affinity Designer to draw a product, hope you will like it.
The experience is well, somehow I think I need Arrey when I draw repeating units. And I think I need a Stroke Gradient tool or panel to show the control ponits when I change the color of strokes precisely, it's not good when I try to change stroke's gradient color points, especially in canical type.

About 4-hours-work, I think this is the best vector product pic I have ever draw.

Thanks retrograde. I was out for most of today, and I think stepping away from it has helped. Yes, I think building up the shadows beneath the nose will work, and I realised too that I had accidently removed shadow work beneath the left eye (left to us, Zoe's right eye) so that side of her face is looking a little flat. I haven't had time to work much on it today, but fixing that helped a little, as did shortening the nose just a wee bit.
Thanks for the tip of using multiply. I just looked it up, and it's probably something I should be using instead of the skin tones document palette I set up. I already did a little work on Emily's skin, but it's not too late to try the multiply blend on her skin instead. Thanks.
I showed them both today. Zoe hates it and refuses to look at it! But she's eighteen, and tells me she hates that photo (in fairness she's got quite a strange pose --- one she probably thought was "grown up" at the time). Emily hugged me and said "I love your picture, Uncle Tim." Not sure how to take that. She might be only ten years old, but she learned the arts of sarcasm and being patronising years ago! Well for a first effort, I don't think it's too bad so far (I'll probably look back in a year and cringe!).

Users need some sort of simple way to organize and save favourite brushes in their own panel. There are now hundreds of brushes, all in separate panels. It's becoming counter productive and I think some sort of system is needed to get the most out of all of these great resources.

And if you are doing outdoor or exhibit banners, the minimum viewing distance is likely to be big enough that you won’t need more than 150ppi (and often very much less).

Visually reminds me of a motorcycle helmet sort of...  Nice to see the wires too.

Plus 1 Hokusai!  -- Sort of related, how do we remove an affinity coded shortcut. When there is a caution or exclamation mark on a key short, how do we override it? Can we?

    MattP,

Thanks for all the hard work! I just wanted to tell you that I am so happy with the "Hide/Show All" and the "Lock/Unlock All" commands! It really helps me to be more efficient! I do have one request though and I think it is similar to or possibly the same as a request that Retrograde had made sometime before. Would it be possible to make the "Show All" only show all the objects that are hidden and not show the layers that are hidden? Right now when I do a "Show All", it shows all the hidden objects and hidden layers as well. What I'd like to be able to do is have those two commands separated so I can do a "Show All" which would show all objects but not layers. Then have a "Show All Layers" command that would turn on hidden layers. A "Show All" would turn on the visibility of the hidden objects that are on non-visible layers but we wouldn't see them until we turned on the visibility of those layers. Thanks to you and all the other developers for such amazing work!

Agreed GraphicMamma. There are some features still needed, still in development and hopefully still being worked on behind the scenes. I'm looking forward to the next big step forward for Designer, specifically in the area of an illustration related feature set. Distortion tools, more node control and manipulation (scale, rotate, align), etc... Designer is excelling in some areas and behind in others but I think this is the right team to pull it all together so I'm in it for the long haul. :-)

I am working on the Lambretta image at the moment. Trying to repeat this look in a slightly different colour scheme, but same style. I may do a few more using other scooter brands or motorcycles paired with different cityscape backgrounds for a wide ranging series.

I am "borrowing" heavily and standing on the shoulders of a lot of the great poster artists of the 20's - 50's stylistically. I've been wanting to create something like this for a while now in Designer. I'm very glad to see it's getting a positive response. :-)
