I just clicked on this without reading your description and was like, how did you do this in designer... maybe was it photo?? Blender, yep now it makes sense. Interesting organic piece.

I'd like to see them revisited as well, not only beefed up (they seem a little too "fine" to me at the moment) but also a little more iconic.
The Action icons in particular are too similar - 1st, 2nd and 4th - I think they should all be distinctive... I've been using the app for months now and I still have to hover to make sure I'm clicking the right icon.

Great use of effects to create a sense of 3d to some of the elements. That, with the understated colour and tonal work makes for an original and distinctive piece. Nice work Ulrik.

Yes actually, but I believe I was incorrect earlier. It's inner "shadow" that I use more than inner "glow". Inner shadow has the "offset slider" and reposition feature that allows you to pick where exactly that shading gets applied. You can do a lot with that!
If I do encounter a shape that's just too complicated to work this way, I'll go into pixel persona, grab a nice big soft brush and paint the shading in. Designer is nice and flexible that way.

If you poke around the site a bit you'll eventually find each of the 3 dogs. I also did the Kama'aina K9 Adventures logo and their facility park map although those were done in illustrator because, for now, the client needs these in illustrator. ;)

Bobaffinity, that may be an aspect or a workflow of the upcoming symbols feature that I believe is in the features roadmap.
ie: If you have an element you use a lot, create a symbol of it and I'm guessing it will be in your symbols palette every time you open up Designer

Yes I imagine there are a few watching and waiting for some of these features to come "on board" before making their move to replace or adopt to a new workflow.

Sorry to sneak a wish list in there but it was top of mind as I just finished the piece and I keep a running list of things I encounter near me as I work or I'll just forget until I come up against it in a new piece.
Hehe, yes it would seem that I have "gone to the dogs", I have more dogs to come but might take a break and try something else, maybe of the human variety... ;)

Here's another dog, seems I'm on a roll... personal work this time.
Thought I'd try out an all airbrush style paint piece using mostly pixel persona and the spray paint brushes in Designer. I had tried this guy a few years back in photoshop, this turned out much better. ;) Maybe I just suck at photoshop painting... :)
Some discoveries made with this piece has got me thinking of some personal wish list items for Designer as it pertains particularly for painting:
- rotate canvas
- an option or toggle to hide the brush cursor while painting (some of the brush cursors outline previews are a little distracting and are in the way while painting)
- smooth stroke or lazy mouse feature
- quick flip canvas (horz and vert) to check composition
- OPTION > COMMAND > SPACE BAR and COMMAND > SPACE BAR for zooming (it's enabled and works as expected in draw persona but not in pixel persona, never did get an explanation on why this is... :huh: - this is a biggie hence the UPPERCASE letters!) :) The navigator palette just doesn't cut it for quick workflow.
as an aside...
- would love to see a "global" noise effect ability like in Affinity Photo (live filter) to be able to globally cover entire artwork with noise from the top most layer...
