These are pretty neat. I could see them animated and walking in isometric directions.

Nice job jMaguire. Lot's of character. One suggestion I would make might be to slightly thicken up the outlines on each of or the 2 dominant animals in the foreground to separate them a bit from the background.

Just noticed in my scale with object exploration adventure that in the Effects dialogue for gaussian blur there is no way to enact scale with object unless the additional advanced effects dialogue is open ... but there is no way to open that from the normal gaussian dialogue or panel. There is no little gear icon on the gaussian blur... so how about adding a scale with object tick box on the top of the "normal" Effects panel?

Is there a way to apply the "scale with object" globally, like a preference after the fact? I have a bunch of objects that I should have had the "scale with object" turned on for as I created them. Just wondering if there is a way to apply it now or do I have to individually select each and every object and apply it manually? Thanks.

Good suggestion Ash, and yes I'm feelin fancy... ;-) -
Really nice soft painterly quality to this. I love the handling of the subtle shades, especially in the background and water. Nice lighting too on the figure. Great job Hiswe!

One last wish for this thread would be if this worked with selected nodes and not just on an object level. I miss the ability to grab 2 or more nodes and scale toward a point or rotate just a few nodes... tweaking always tweaking... :D

Hey MEB, what if I have something locked but I can't find it in the layers panel to unlock it because it's locked and I can't right click on it? Should users always have to go to the layers panel to unlock something. There is an unlock key short but it only works if I have the element selected in the layers panel... if I am going to go to the layers panel to select the element I will just unlock it there There currently is an "ungroup all" ability, why no "unlock all" ability? I really miss this. Or am I not seeing something? Edit: it appears that ungroup all actually only ungroups all groups within a group, not all instances of all groups. Hmm.

Scaling point or centre too please. Pretty please. :-)

Hi waveman777, not that this is a total fix for you but for me, as I was bugged by the eyedropper function as well starting out I do like the >copy from one object then command>shift>v to another object to inherit the original objects attributes, colour and effects workflow. This saved me from a world of frustration. I do find the eyedropper behaviour a bit awkward currently, but I think, I hope, some of these basics will be refined once the initial feature push has quieted down. While I find Designer's colouring, shading, effects toolset second to none, very good and more than adequate, I am still finding some of the basic pen tool drawing and path creating workflow not fully baked yet. ;) I do have hope though, and I appreciate Affinity's focus on the overall feature set right now to satisfy the exporting and artboard workflow. Hang in there... the other guys had a 30 year head start. :)

Cool! To tryout the canvas rotate feature, I setup my canvas rotate key shorts to ll for rotate left and rr for rotate right. Works like a charm. If you hold each key down it rotates the canvas continuously. Nice! Now just to get the grids to update automatically would be da bomb! Currently you have to hide and show to update a grid on a rotated canvas. Still, it's a nice solution so far. Edit: actually command-; will redraw the grid too and it's a bit quicker...

As above accolades, this is a brilliant example of what Designer can do in the hands of a master. It's technically accurate to my eye but even more, it's full of surface subtleties that takes it beyond photorealistic. Great job!
