  1. I hear you MEB, and I totally understand that the team is small and trying to put out fires while advancing the product. :)  but I'm inclined to somewhat agree with JimmyJack.

I guess what I'd like to express here is the critical importance of addressing some of the current users on-going core issues before racing to get version X out. I would have thought fixing this would get classified as a bug fix/improvement... I don't know how many would agree with me on this but I would much rather a solid, ironclad app that delivers everything as promised before moving over to adding features that may in itself potentially introduce more bugs or issues.

I know a big part of creating and getting award winning products like these to market and keeping them on the consumers radar is the promise of new features and maintaining a certain level of excitement. This is fine and expected as long as some of the core features aren't short changed along the way in favour of introducing "whiz bang feature X".  :P

The last thing I want to do is dis the dev team, I know you are all working hard on 1.5  Hey, I'm your biggest fan and I want you to take over the world! I do!!  :D  I'm just also pining for those beautiful booleans and enchanting expand stroke features I read about on the box...

  2. Hey MEB / retrograde / ball_uriel,

Thanks very much for taking the time to check out my work and the kind comments. I hope to contribute to the forum more in the near future.

Kevin, I took a peek at your links - Wow awesome, inspiring work! your High Flyer has to be my fav.

Back to the drawing board then!  :D

     Cheers funkyimage!

  3. Hi retrograde,

What you're describing is feathering. This was present in one of the first Betas as an FX but was later removed because it wasn't working correctly.

There was even a few requests with some good suggestions to improve the regular feathering with variable edge distance, controlled by an auxiliary line if i remember correctly (kind of a variable offset around the main shape). Would like to see this too. It's quite useful.

Yes of course feathering. When it comes to terminology, I'm at a bit of a loss sometimes. That would be perfect.

Now that you mention it, I kind of think I remember it being an effect...

  4. Would love to see a feature where we can target a blur on an edge only.

Say I have a fill with some painting in it and maybe some noise applied, if I'd like the edge to be soft and apply a blur to it the whole things blurs, losing any painting detail and noise... be cool to just be able to blur the shapes edge without the contents getting blurred. Would be nice to have a slider and preview.

Maybe there is already a way to do this? Any ideas?

Again, a boy can dream.  :D

  5. Having fun with these Paolo. I really like the Pigmento sponge, it has a nice and soft buttery feel and the command key eraser is awesome!

Just some fun shapes here. I'll be trying to combine more of a vector and pixel workflow in my work going forward. With designer there's no more excuse not to. ;)

  6. Gray ramp threshold of nozzles.

This is the last preset (Simple Flat Bristle 4)

    pixel_vs_paintbrush.png

As you can notice the Pixel one (first) is crisp and the impasto effect pretty visible.

The second one is done switching to common Paintbrush, and seems still wet and the effect a bit subtle.

    I usually mix both solutions.

Moreover, as I wrote above Pixel Tool with CMD key pressed switches to eraser, retaining the same preset, this is a simple stupid feature that speed up things a lot and keeps style consistent.

Cheers Paolo, you're some kind of brush genius. Glad I asked.

  7. Yeah! Love to make these weird matches...

You'll find in this set the Robot Painter too (shared before), but it is the only selection I shared.

    All brushes are brand new.

Awesome work Paolo, I've been playing with these all morning and they are great. So many options!

I am curious to know the reasoning behind the different brush icons for each on the right hand side in the brush panel. I assume that you should select those types of brushes in the tool panel? Blend is obvious, but there are pixel brush icons in there too. How different is this then just using the normal paint brush tool?

Also, and I know this is an Affinity level request, but it would be great to be able to favourite the ones you really like or even better create a new panel of just your fav brushes. With so many choices it's getting tricky remembering which ones you like. A good problem to have.  ;)

    Thanks again.

EDIT: just noticed you saying above that you will be adding some tips and description, sorry I should just read things before spouting off sometimes... :D .  Look forward to it.
