  1. Until Freehand like selection prowess rears it's head, if it ever does I will settle for something similar to illustrators magic wand tool. Saved my bacon more than once on a complicated piece. Really simple, one task job when that's all you need.
  2. This is working fine for me. Check that you don't have soften set too high, because then you won't see much of a difference between each profile.
  3. I would love to see some sort of slider in the upper contextual toolbar that would allow reducing or adding nodes on a selected bezier curve and still try to maintain the shape...
  4. I just tried this and it seemed fine. The layers were in the same stacking lineup just inside a group. Are you saying the parent layers get scattered or the elements on each layer lose their positioning? That would not be good.
  5. Not sure if this is what you're asking but... go to the tools panel and choose the gradient tool (it's the 8th tool down), click and drag over your selected shape vertically while holding shift to keep it straight. Is that what you're asking? Heres a screenshot...
  6. Thanks Insecto, for your opinion and good advice. I'm not sure if I'm going to do volumes of stuff so probably the Gumroad route will something more suited for me. Nice stuff on you GR page btw. Cheers!
  7. Bingo! That would explain it. I'm still behind the OS curve. Thanks ABC.
  8. Awesome stuff Insecto! You definitely have a distinctive look and style that works really well with Designer. I have some similar type of pack products in development and I'd be interested in your experience with Gumroad as a way to sell your stuff. I was thinking of either that route or maybe Envato and would welcome your thoughts...
  9. That's interesting. I don't seem to have that anywhere in my prefs window under any option tab in 1.5 beta 9. ... also I'm getting some text cut off in my "General" tab. See image attached.
  10. In general most path operations and booleans for me are much better than they were. There are still some show stopping issues with expanding strokes, but outlining type and basic boolean of shapes for me at least are very useable. Currently. ;)
  11. Bug? I'm getting some weird cursor behaviour creating shape objects. It's consistent no matter which shape I choose. When I select a shape say a rectangle and hover over the artboard the cursor is an arrow not a crosshair. I can draw out a rectangle and if I hover over the shape I get the move arrows crosshair which makes sense but if I click to move it it draws another rectangle...? Edit: just read the above mention of the same issue. Sorry for doubling the post...
  12. Just running it through the paces and one thing I'm noticing is a bit of a lag moving things around. Just basic square shapes. It's more of a visual screen redraw sort of thing, really choppy...
  13. Oh the things you can get away with in 2d... that's some crazy perspective going on there Brett! ;)
  14. Yes to me with the scrub zoom, I'd expect as you scrub left and right that the view would zoom in directly under the cursor click position. It should lock the position of the click and zoom up and down from that spot... currently it seems like soft location, it sort of works but not quite... ...also, as mentioned I still would like to see a "+" (plus) sign on that marquee zoom maneuver. Currently I am getting a "- "(minus)... which is inaccurate. :)
  15. Hi Meb, seems to me that it's doing a "marquee zoom" when you press Space + ⌥ (option/alt) from any tool and it's showing the magnifying glass icon with a minus sign in it, should be a plus sign, no?... at least that's what is happening in my version of beta 8. ...and the scrubby zoom doesn't seem like it's zooming from under my mouse. It's not quite "on" target...
  16. Seems designer really shines in this type of high realism style. Starting to see it here more and more. Nice work!
  17. Personally I like the bottom version of the second round. I'm finding in the first two options, the G's are looking a bit like F's at the reduced size. What about adding a version of the head to the second bottom option in a black circle and centred above and touching the black stretched shape? Although it does look fine on it's own...
  18. Thanks baal_uriel. Yes Matt's solution is probably the more correct way to do that. That way you're vector file is sound as well as your exports... :-)
  19. A quick fix would be to set those white pieces as "erase" in the blend mode drop down in the layers panel... Then export as a png.
