  1. I have been a professional software user for well over 30 years. In that time I’ve bought 3 houses, 8 cars, numerous changes of clothing, 20+ computers, 13 mobile phones and a considerable amount of software. None of the above came with a discount because I’d bought one before. I don’t NEED V2 but have bought it to continue support for the non subscription model that too many other, not named, software providers have taken on. Sometimes you have to stand back for a minute and realise what is good value for money. The 4th house wasn’t - so I didn’t buy it.

  2. I too would welcome a means to add measurements to a design. I use Affinity Designer in many ways, but my main use is designing lighting for large scale concerts. There are software applications within our industry for doing this but Designer provides a illustrative 'feel' to design with a much larger 'expressive' palate. Combining lighting design with the set-design within Designer has become simply a glorious way to be creative. Once a design has been finalised, I have a need to create a layer where dimensions and measurements can be attributed to the design. This allows me (in the real world) to identify the various lighting units that might be used to achieve the effects created. This can then be turned into a project listing of material needs. In a typical lighting rig you might have 100's of luminaries that have to be precisely positioned on various hanging truss. The ability to be able to draw accurate dimensions within designer is fundamental. It surely can't be too hard to provide as the underlying dimensions are already there when moving objects around the document? For me, this facility would complete the package and allow me to leave Illustrator for good!

  3. Suggestion - On our MAC's, the default scroll (left and right, up and down) is very sensitive and fast. This often creates issues when selecting and using tools or utilising 'Right or Left click' for accessing secondary menus. It becomes terribly frustrating when the document on view continually scrolls off the screen when touching. the mouse to select another action. This is also an issue for me when using Affinity Designer and Photo. Would it perhaps be possible to reduce the sensitivity within the UI (scale 1 - 10 as an example) and/or provide a shortcut or other command that can be used to lock the document in the current position, so that one can work without chasing the page every time you touch your mouse. This could be a keyboard shortcut that toggles 'Lock - Unlock' so that you can quickly unlock the document, reposition the area you are working on and then re-lock it. Thank you.

  4. I apologise if this subject has been covered elsewhere, but I could not find it. I am new to Affinity but with 25 years of Adobe experience. Being able to view the 'bleed' in a document before printing is very much desirable but I found mention of it elsewhere as a likely upgrade. My main question is of being able to move the ruler origin in a document so that like in 'Illustrator' you can easily change the origin while you are working to suit different origins within your design that you need to work from. It is very rare, when working, that you don't wish to shift the origin for the purpose of measuring simply from a particular object. Is this already possible, but I've missed it in the help or tutorials or is this something that might be provided in an update? Otherwise, I am enjoying the experience!
