no.

These belong in separate bug report threads, and there is already one where this particular issue has been reported:

fde101 got a reaction from ronnyb in Align bug
Newer versions of the browsers are dropping support for the plugins that enable QuickTime to work on Windows computers.
Apple has stopped developing QuickTime for Windows and it is no longer being supported.
It looks like VLC will play QuickTime movies on Windows (I have not tested this): https://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Not sure what is different but my Document menu is showing the funky arrows for all three options and they seem to represent Page Up and Page Down - using those keys the shortcuts work for me.

The Live Perspective filter appears to be almost unusable. Using the Perspective Tool seems to be working fine for me. This applies to macOS and Windows. I'll get it looked into—thanks.

fde101 got a reaction from A_B_C in Make Add Page, Add Layer, etc. icons “more semantic”
Agreed... if I didn't know what the current icons mean, I still wouldn't after looking at them.

What about adding a little plus sign to all the buttons that are intended for adding an object, such as a page, a layer etc.?

@fde101 Both on or off. It only happens once I shear/skew the shape.
@Polygonius, This has nothing to do with Metal....

Technically you can do it using the Layers panel.

fde101 got a reaction from occasionalpiece in Affinity Publisher Public Beta - 1.7.0.238
It was never guaranteed that files created in one version of the beta would even open in the next version.
The fact that .238 can open files from .227 is already more than we knew we could rely on.
I could see asking to save in a format compatible with 1.6 (if there *was* a 1.6 version of Publisher), but expecting backward compatibility with previous betas that are not considered production versions of the software is going a bit too far.

fde101 reacted to GarryP in "Special characters and glyphs" page in Help could be more useful
Publisher 1.7.0.238.
It would be useful to a lot of users if the "Special characters and glyphs" page of the Help could give:
* what each character looks like (if possible);
* a short explanation of what it does, or what it can/should be used for;
* a good visual example of where it has been used.
Some characters are fairly self-explanatory - "Page Number", "Copyright", etc. - but some, such as (but not limited to) "Soft Hyphen", "Sixth Space", "Zero-Width Non-Joiner" and "Punctuation Space" are meaningless to people without a good DTP/printing background.
I'm sure there are lots of explanations around the web but it would be nice if users didn't have to search for them.
Obviously the Help isn't finished yet, but it would be a shame if this sort of useful information was omitted.

fde101 got a reaction from walt.farrell in Original image size info
You can actually just type in 150% too.
-
fde101 got a reaction from mac_heibu in Original image size info
Percentage of what though? The concept of "original size" is somewhat ambiguous to begin with and for many type of objects is completely meaningless so there would be nothing to calculate a percentage of.
For images you seem to be asking for a percentage of the size that is calculated from the DPI and pixel resolution settings stored in the image file (which assumes a file type that contains such data), but those values can easily be arbitrary so they may not reflect the size of the pictured objects at all.
For example, if I drop a few arbitrary RAW files from one of my cameras into Publisher they are all recognized as 300 dpi. The pictures were taken at different zoom levels and at different distances from objects, so at "100%" size an item that was a foot long in one of the pictures is not likely to be a foot long in the printed document...
Then take artistic text. What is the "original" size of artistic text? If you argue that it is the original size from when it was first entered, what happens when I change the font to one with different metrics? Scale the text then modify it - do the newly typed characters have a different "original size" than the ones that were there originally?
If you go with the definition of pixel count divided by dpi, then that can work for images if the dpi was originally set to something meaningful for the image, though the usage of the term is somewhat fuzzy - but it doesn't exactly apply to "all items" in a meaningful way regardless.

Then the software should obviously split the chain for the copy.

No, that fill came in as part of the Hyperlink style that I chose from the Insert Hyperlink dialog.

fde101 reacted to walt.farrell in Usability concern with new hyperlink feature and text frame default style
I'm not sure whether this is a bug or intended behavior, so I'll start here.
I'm playing around with the new hyperlink implementation in 1.7.0.238 on Windows. First, thanks for getting this new feature implemented so quickly. I'm sure it will please those of us who have missed it.
I did these steps in a new document:
Created a few pages. On one page I drew a Text Frame and added some text without specifying any style information in the Context menubar. I repeated that on another page. I selected some text in one of the frames, and marked it as an anchor (Text > Interactive > Insert Anchor). I selected some text in the other frame, and marked it as an "anchor" hyperlink to the text in step 3 (Text > Interactive > Insert Hyperlink), and in the dialog left the Character Style at the default of Hyperlink. All of the above worked as I expected.
I then created another Text Frame, typed some text, and it came out in the Hyperlink style, in blue. The default style for my new Text Frame was now Hyperlink, and the default fill was blue.
From a usability perspective, I don't think that marking something as a hyperlink should change the default settings for future text or text frames.

fde101 got a reaction from ronnyb in Listen to the users... please
I propose that the best way to handle this is to add a "Set Defaults" button to the filter/adjustment windows. Clicking that takes the current settings of the filter or adjustment and uses those as the default settings when future instances of it are created.

fde101 got a reaction from philippgfx in Best way for replicated content (99x210 to A4)
You would set the page size in your document to 99x210 then when printing set the paper size in the print dialog to A4 and the document model to "N-Up".

I'd like to see the ability to select a guide and nudge it's position with the arrow keys. Currently it doesn't seem to be possible, you can only click and drag to reposition.
