I would love to see a Separations Preview in Affinity Publisher.  I work for a commercial printer and need to see how the plates will separate, also being able to overprint is needed as well, I haven't seen how to enable that.

Again, does not appear to do ANY of the things being asked for here.  All about editing, signing, etc. - nothing on that page suggests it can do separations, ink density checks, standards compliance validation...

They already have...  we get the opportunity to buy and use a product which is that much better than it would have been, not to mention a sneak peak into said upcoming product.

… and perhaps it makes a — buggy — difference, if not the colour values are changing, but „ only“ an attribute (overprint yes/no).

There is a report in another thread that objects are sometimes scaling away from their bounding boxes - this may not look similar but I have a sneaky suspicion they may be related somehow:

You could be right @fde101. Time will tell, I could get similar results in the other topic. Screen redraw is my catchall response for these sorts of problems.

Personally I find it a bit strange that arrowheads are being applied to closed shapes.  That doesn't really impress me as particularly logical (if the shape is closed, where does it start and end?)

Nice... just a thought but it might sometimes be helpful to be able to position dots at any intermediate nodes along the path of the stroke (as if they were "connectors").
 
Maybe because I had already customized my tools to add the all-important cat tool, but I had to customize again to add this in... not a big deal, and I do like the tool.
 
I'm sure I can come up with some wild and quite probably insane use cases for this one...  
 
EDIT: The appearance panel doesn't seem to work with artistic text.  Sad.

If you look on the Swatches panel (not the Color panel - those are two different panels) there is a popup menu that allows you to select a swatch palette.  There are several Pantone options in that list.

OK, this was my mistake the Symbol panel has been determined to be an Affinity Designer feature, so is meant to not appear in the list of studios

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of the beta of Affinity Designer 1.7 for macOS.
Designer 1.7 is a significant change to the currently shipping 1.6 version. Files edited in this version will not be backwards-compatible with the shipping 1.6 version. As such, we would not recommend using this 1.7 version for critical or production work at this stage. It is inevitable that there were will be a number of issues with 1.7 but we hope these will be minor and aim to resolve any issues very quickly, so please use it and explore the new features, but also do keep in mind that you may find snags and we would appreciate your help with finding and reporting these to us.
If this is your first time using a customer beta of an Affinity app, it’s worth noting that the beta will install as a separate app - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry.
It’s also worth noting that we aren’t done yet - we are still working through reported bugs from previous releases and hope to fix as many as possible before the final release of 1.7.
With all that said, we hope that you will enjoy the new capabilities introduced in this initial release and we look forward to any and all feedback you give to us.

This is something I observer with other dialogs.
But if you tab away from the field the name will stick. You are absolutely right, though, this should be fixed.

Yes, all the Studio Toggle keys are in Miscellaneous, for all the Affinity applications. But Publisher on Windows does not have one for the Symbol Panel.

Interesting... I am also on Sierra (10.12) and .249 and it is missing from View -> Studio; however, it does show up as an option for keyboard shortcuts, and if I assign a shortcut to it I can open it using the shortcut.

Yes, this was improved. The middle handles don't need to be visible anymore for you to adjust the width or height of the boxes as long as there's enough space between the corners handles for you to place the cursor in the middle (it should then change to reflect you can adjust the width/height). In the current retail you can only adjust the width and height when the middle handles are visible over the bounding box.

Very few people are using this feature in earnest on the same file, but for those that do it's very important. At the very least Publisher (1.7) cannot be released before ADe 1.7 and APh 1.7 because of the personas that are included. So all at the same or a similar time (or APu afterwards) is logical yes.

Someone on another thread came up with the workaround of converting the object to a text frame and inserting the anchor into the text.
Another option would be to simply group an otherwise empty text frame with the object and insert the anchor into that text frame.
Obviously these are not ideal long-term solutions but they should work in the interim.

ok, then how about the next best thing... either or both of:
provide filter options of "all styles", "paragraph styles", and "character styles" (and maintain the scrollbar position (within reason) when switching among the three, at least if not implementing both of these features) allow multiple copies of the panel to be opened (with different filters applied if providing both features)  
One of the limitations of the current approach is that if you do sort by the type of style there are so many styles in Publisher that the character styles get scrolled off the bottom of the list when trying to reach the paragraph styles at the top, while some of the paragraph styles get scrolled off the top of the list when trying to change the character styles below.  Either of these options would help to alleviate that problem.
