Well, the idea of this feature is morph the word and keeping it editable. Converting to outline will make this project unusable.

This looks like a known "phenomenon". Or perhaps a bug, what do I know.
You're using "artistic text" for the logotype which dynamically changes the size of the object bounds.
Try frame text with constant frame size and padding instead, so that the text never appears outside the frame bounds.
You may need to create a new perspective group for that, however.

Great to hear that! Personally, I'm not a big fan of plugins either. So, I view this idea as more of a fantastic feature. With the addition of the amazing shape creator tool, it will truly become a perfect combination. Just imagine the endless possibilities! When you select this tool, envision a button conveniently located at the top that allows you to effortlessly choose a grid. It will be nothing short of magical!
I hope so, it will save time during the creation process. I mean, I love taking my time to build a logo, don't get me wrong. It's just that a helpful tool like this one will boost productivity to another level.

I came across this incredible discovery on Twitter (yes, I'm well aware, the platform is now referred to as X). It's an amazing addon for logo designers. I was wondering if there's something similar available for Designer, or if we could potentially create it ourselves using our internal tools like macros. I'm really curious to know if achieving this is within our reach.

    Thanks for your post @albertkinng!
I'm unable to find confirmation currently if this is expected behaviour, or if Designer should be automatically creating a Slice for each Artboard created when importing a PDF file - therefore I have asked this question of our team and will be sure to respond here with any information I'm provided

albertkinng reacted to walt.farrell in Imported Artboards lack Export Persona functionality due to technical limitations?
It seems you have opened a PDF file, where each Page has become an Artboard named Page "n", which is expected.
You end up with only 1 Slice automatically created in the Export Persona, covering the entire document. However, you can create additional Slices if you use the Layers panel in the Export Persona, select all the pages, and click Create Slice at the bottom of the panel.
This is the way Designer has always worked, even in V1. I don't know if this is correct, or if each "page" Artboard should automatically  have a Slice created, as when you open a .afdesign document that contains multiple Artboards.
That would be a design vs bug question for Serif to answer.

Through my experience, I've come to understand that rationality seldom raises its voice. Confusion between perception and reality can arise when the functionality of certain tools appears to address one need over another. Ultimately, these tools are designed to meet alignment requirements. Having said that, you're entitled to your opinion, regardless of whether I agree or not. It's important to note that I'm not disputing your viewpoint; rather, I'm simply providing clarity on the intended uses of specific tools within Affinity Designer. Wishing you a fantastic day ahead.

Short answer is yes. For a more complete answer about how many computers the licenses cover, refer to the next to the last FAQ titled "How many devices can I install Affinity apps on?" at https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/affinity-2-faq/ or the equivalent if you live somewhere other than the US.

True, and when developers leverage this ability to create arbitrary changes to apps which break with conventions that are standard to the environment, it almost always results in sub-standard applications which do not fit in with the rest of the environment.
A macOS user who is accustomed to finding that option in that location in that menu will look for it there in other applications as well.  Being the one application that makes them go hunting for it when it can be readily found in the same expected place everywhere else is not an act if kindness to your users.

If you often choose the wrong menu command you could access the More command by its keyboard shortcut. Or you could choose File > new and click Recent.

Thanks. I never realized that 'Recent' was in the File -> New… dialog. I usually just type in whatever settings I need and ignore everything on the left.

The 'Clear Menu' at the bottom under a separator is standard on macOS. The 'More…' isn't—and because it is directly under 'Clear Menu' I've inadvertently selected 'Clear Menu' when I intended to select 'More…'. The current design is very error prone, and as 'Clear Menu' doesn't prompt 'Are you sure?' it's very easy to clear all recent docs if you're not paying attention.
'Clear Menu' should stay, keeping in-line with macOS guidelines, but the 'More…' below it could use a rethink. As it's more of a visual browser of recent docs than just a listing, perhaps it should be hoisted from the 'Open Recent…' submenu to it's own 'File' menu item, possibly as 'Browse Recent…'?

I can't begin to express the number of times I accidentally click on 'Clear Menu', and chaos ensues. I implore you, please, just relocate it somewhere else. This small adjustment would bring enormous joy and significantly reduce frustration among all of us in the office.

    Hi @albertkinng,
After you Force Quit Affinity Photo, there will be a hidden lock file left behind, which is why you get the error when you try to open the same file in Affinity Designer.  If you view your hidden files, you should be able to see the lock file and delete it.  By default that lock file would be deleted when the file is clearly closed but doesn't when the app is force quitted.
For loading issue, is your Desktop set to be backed up to iCloud?  If so, can you try this, click Apple > System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders > expand each app and please disable 'iCloud Drive' for each app.  Then see if you are able to open that file without the delay?
