meachp got a reaction from Wosven in Problems with Global Colours (Designer in Windows).
Hi Wosven, and thank you!  I knew it would be something simple and it was - I wasn't clicking on the global colour icon to highlight it before right clicking to edit the fill.  It works perfectly now, thanks again.

    Hi there

Please can you guys consider having a saving feature of the changes we make to a RAW image in the Develop Persona?
It can be quite annoying to make a new set of presets for each image, when I want to jump in and out of the Develop Persona.
Also, sometimes I need to restart my computer, and to either cancel or commit to all the edits can be a bit too limiting...
Please could you consider it? Thanks!

Looking forward to your favorable response.
    Kind Regards,
    Jayden

Yes.  Every time.  I don't know why they're fighting it so hard if they're "basically interchangeable".  Just use the correct term then!

Yes.  In summary, for all practical purposes, the program should be describing resolution in PPI.

Those loose definitions of pixel also depend on a loose definition of "dot", making them far less than ideal, while not directly related to the intent and purpose commonly associated with them in digital art and printing.

But this is not correct.  It doesn't matter whether you print or not.  Your exported PNG will have pixel dimensions and the PPI won't be relevant at all, so it's not correct to say it would be equal to PPI.  Furthermore, a 300 PPI image could be printed at 300 DPI, 600 DPI, 1200 DPI, or maybe 2400 DPI, so again, PPI is not relevant or appropriate to use in place of DPI.

It's one thing to say that so many people don't understand the difference, or that printers foolishly ask for DPI when they mean PPI, that you believe it would create a lot of confusion to change it.  I don't agree with that stance, but I understand it.  It's not understandable to say that they are interchangeable, or that DPI is ever equal to PPI.

So, DPI is *not* a term you'd generally find in software, but you guys decided to use it anyway?  And whenever someone mistakenly uses DPI it's safe to assume they mean PPI, but you still chose to use DPI?

I'm trying to use the Topaz Remask plugin, and I get the error message: "Transparency is Locked.  Please unclock the transparency".  Note the incorrect spelling of unlock is yours not mine!  Have searched Help and this forum but can't find anything.

While DPI and PPI are often used interchangeably, they are NOT the same.  Pixels per inch is self evident but DPI refers to the number of dots of ink output by a printer, and they typically output four to eight dots per pixel (in each dimension).  So, if you're printing at 300 PPI you're also printing at 1200 - 2400 DPI.  Serif really should change the labels in their software to PPI - a la Photoshop et al.

It doesn't matter whether you're printing or exporting - it's PPI in both cases.  I don't know what Photoshop called it before Adobe, but they call it PPI now.
