  1. I don't know if it's true for all adjustments, but the .tiff files allow adjustment layers to be modified! The .tiff files can't retain the edit history though.
  2. I'd start by shooting in RAW to give yourself as much latitude as possible. As well as using masks and adjustment layers you could try the dodge brush, though I don't think it's as good in this case.
  3. There are lots of ways of doing this, and lots of tutorials - it would help to know which one you followed.
  4. Chrome is my browser of choice - Opera was installed to help with an earlier fault finding exercise. I'll have look at Vivaldi though!
  5. I've changed my OS to my wife's settings, changed back to my own and the problem's gone away! BUT Chrome does not translate this page for me anymore !!! <Edit> That was wrong - it will translate. Before, it offered to translate. And the original problem has come back - I can not attach files !!! I think it's time to reinstall Chrome!
  6. Which browser are you using? I have the same problem with Chrome, but Opera's OK! I'm guessing it's a browser settings issue, but I don't know which one(s).
  7. No, you're not! I've been deselecting "View pixel selection" to make the adjustments easier to see, but it's so easy to forget you've still got a selection
  8. XnViewMP is able to display a reasonable sized thumbnail - is there an embedded JPEG?
  9. That should be "open your files with an external editor" True, but get your copy of AP from the Affinity Store if you plan to do this - apps bought via the MS Store operate within a sandbox which (so far) prevents them being used in the way described.
  10. It turns out that Win 10 has an option to switch to the erase function when the pen is reversed - disabling this fixed the problem. It also corrupted the driver, which had to be reinstalled!
  11. Since I'd never even used a graphics tablet, Santa was kind enough to bring me a Huion New 1060 Plus . Everything seems fine except that when I take the pen out of range of the tablet both AP and AD switch to the erase brush. Any idea what I'm doing wrong, or is there something I need to configure?
  12. If you make the MS Store version of AP the Windows default image viewer, you can use it successfully from within apps like digiKam - passing parameters is possible!
  13. I can store 15,000 files of that size for £100 - quite a few years' worth at the rate I produce keepers . Going back to the days when I was working from home and needed a good backup system, I use a program called AISCL and backup all my images to a disk mounted in a USB 3 caddy for rapid removal in case of fire.
  14. I'm just a hobbyist, but large file sizes simply isn't an issue for me - disk space is cheap and SSDs are fast! Under what circumstances does it become a deal breaking problem?
  15. That's the option that's missing form digiKam 5.7.0 (at least it is on my PC) - there's no "Open with"! Previously, you could define a default editor within digiKam and have the option of using that, the internal editor or select something completely different.
  16. Thanks for the tip - sadly, it doesn't seem to work for me, it just uses the internal editor . How are you going from digiKam to AP? <edit> Sorted - thank you! It's <Windows Key>F4
  17. It isn't - the access from LR problem is caused by the limitations of the MS Store. Plugin support isn't affected - some plugins work, others don't, but it doesn't matter where you bought it. There is a way to call AP from LR - see this thread., though I'm hoping that can be improved.
  18. It used to be possible to launch an external program from within digiKam, but that ability was removed a while back. Reading the forums at the time I couldn't work out whether it's a bug or a feature!
  19. Rather than pulling the top corners out you could try pushing the bottom ones in.
