Interesting. Until now I thought SEPA was nothing more than the acronym for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

Yeah, the insides need to be filled or it wont work.
I just edited the Stroke settings and used different joins.

Align Stroke to Centre, Align Stroke to Outside will break the recognition (tested with Google Lens)

I spent a few hours testing lots of combinations, and documented my results in the forum.
Your screenshots show that you did not follow the tutorial exactly, and deviated in many relevant aspects:
tutorial says exactly two layers, pixel on bottom, mask on top. you used a group of vector shapes, and placed a rectangle with channels mixer below. This is not to blame you, just an observation and my conclusions. It is too time consuming for me to reverse engineer your edit steps and guesstimate your intentions. Please try it again on your own, following exactly the steps as described.

From older discussions i know that many new Affinity users perceive this learning curve as too steep, and i understand this. If your time is worth more than 200 bucks per year for Adobe, make a wise decision.

PDF/X file exporting was just added to Vectorstyler today in the newest update to version 1.2. Might be worth looking into and providing feedback for improvement. Vectorstyler and Affinity Designer work well together; it's easy to copy and paste vectors between the two programs.

Mischief was really neat, but unfortunately it was bought and killed by Foundry. FWIW Concepts is very similar, alive and well, and available for many platforms.
Edit: actually, I just checked and their ability to zoom stops at 1600%. The Affinity apps can zoom in MUCH more.

    The trigger condition is simple:
If mask is full black: TGA export is broken (mask is ignored, export is fully opaque).
If mask is not fully black, but is only non-black where the pixel area is black: The exported TGA does not allow to recover RGB pixels. all RGB values get zeroed out.
You may have any number of black mask pixels but you need at least one single pixel which is both not black in RGB channels and not black in alpha channel. Then the exported TGA file can be fully recovered in RGB channels.

Tested on Mac with Photo V2. You milage may vary on iPad or V1

on Mac the behaviour changed as below:
The tutorial works as before, when having a mask which is not fully black, e.g. using a black to white gradient. If the mask is full black (all zero), the exported file gets wrong: either the zero mask is ignored (despite correct rendering of preview), and the exported file is 100% opaque, or the export is not recoverable (RGB channels zeroed out). For your specific case requiring alpha to be zero for the complete canvas: this specific edge case is currently not possible with Affinity apps.

not for TGA export on iPad and a fully black mask. It is a specific edge case.

There's one much newer (and faster as I recall) than that. Within the last 3-4 years, I think.

Affinity has (or had, I'm not sure where to find it) a very similar video showing zooming in deeper and deeper into a design in Designer, too.

That does feel like a bit of an oversight as you have to do everything via the 'Manage Preset' panel...
Though they no longer perform as QR Codes of course... which tool/s did you use to manipulate the QR Codes out of interest?

Is there a complete list of all the Payload structure options available for QR Codes, e.g., email, MMS, vCard etc., or is it restricted to URL, SMS, GEO Location and WIFI?

Feature Request for QR Code Creation...
The QR Code generator library (used in the v2.5 Beta for QR Code creation) supports Quiet Zone Border Modules.
It would be great if an option could be added to both the Create QR Code tool and the context toolbar so a Quiet Zone Border Module value could be specified whether using either a Module value or a value based on the currently selected Affinity UOM...
It's a bit of a pain having to manually add a Quiet Zone Border to a QR Code so the proposal is this...

I think what is being suggested is that the popup box where the URI is entered have a few tabs to build some of the common schemes for the user so that the user doesn't need to work out the encoding for all of them.
For example, iQR (on the App Store for the Mac), in addition to the URL option (which they label "WWW"), has tabs for Phone (enter a phone number), SMS (phone number and message), eMail (to address, subject and body), Map (enter an address and it looks it up using Google Maps or some other map service), Contact (first/last name, phone number(s), email address, web page, street address), Calendar (event name, when, where, etc.), PayPal/Bitcoin/SEPA payments (account, description, price, etc.), WiFi (network name/SSID, password, encryption type, hidden?), and Text.

It also provides an interesting range of formatting options to spice up the appearance of the generated codes:

Granted that this range of formatting options is probably a bit out of scope for a program that is not specialized in producing QR codes, but still thought I would point it out.  The more important thing to consider is to throw in the forms for a few of the common URI schemes.

A new QR Code tool is now available from the shapes flyout in the toolbar, making it easy to add a QR code to your documents.
After creating or selecting a QR Code object you will find a 'Payload' option in the context toolbar. Here you can type whatever URL you want the QR code to link to when it is scanned.

In addition to URLs you can use other syntax as detailed below to have the QR code trigger other functions when scanned by a device:
    SMS
    Payload structure: SMSTO:number:text message
    Eg. SMSTO:07513123456:Hello mate!
    GEO location
    Payload structure: GEO:lat:lon:height
    Eg. GEO:40.71872,-73.98905,100
    WIFI credentials
    Payload structure: WIFI:S:ssid;T:type;P:password;;
    Eg. WIFI:S:MyWiFiSSID;T:WPA;P:MyPassW0rd;;

I get that Affinity is a "photo editor" and not aimed at game developers - but if you really want to take a bite out of Photoshop's market, then you have to take these requests seriously and and start putting in some quality-of-life features for devs. I love that I'm not paying a monthly sub for Adobe anymore - but my god - I do curse a lot using Affinity photo. There are so many things that are great about it - but so many awkward ones as well. It's definitely a love/hate relationship and I'm always on the lookout for something for dev-friendly. 😕

myclay got a reaction from V Sudhanshu in How to create a shortcut to Affinity Photo 2 on desktop in Windows 10?
    @wasker
According to the official info, MSIX doesn't provide this as an option, but you can pin the apps to either the Start Menu or the Taskbar.
There is also the secret Shell:AppsFolder location in Explorer that allows you to right-click or drag the icon to your Desktop for a shortcut as a workaround if you need it.
To get to that Appsfolder location, you have to press Windows+R to open the Windows Run dialog. type the Shell:AppsFolder in, press enter and the folder is open.
search for the Affinity Program right click and then Create shortcut.

I like the place panel but I would like it to be persistent. If I drag 20 images and start placing them one by one (not autoflow), I cannot stop the process or switch to another tool to make a small adjustment, otherwise the place panel disappears and I loose track of what images have already been placed.
Making it persistent like any other panel would be very helpful when working with imported assets

    Here's one example:
    https://www.on1.com/plus/forums/
    https://www.on1.com/products/plus/
Subscription is regularly $55/year, but on sale at a discount at the moment. That's equal to the full price I paid for ON1 Photo Raw 2024 last month on a special promotional offer. They had sucked me in at the end of January when they were giving away ON1 Photo Effects for free, a fact I was alerted to in these Affinity forums.
It was worth the money as I'm learning a lot about a whole different approach to editing, including AI functions. But community support seems poor.
They have some free community forums, but they are pretty empty of content and would give the impression that no one is using their products.
    https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/topics
When you participate in the free forums, your actual name gets posted with your question or comments. I told the company I thought this was a deterrent to using those free forums. I don't know how the paid forums work, but why would they be any different.
