transparent background?
Chris_K replied to safoster71's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on macOS threads
Sorry safoster71 This change was made to accommodate some customer requests of not being able to change the background after the document has been created, but also to allow for preview in the export persona. Depending how you export though some elements will have transparent backgrounds regardless of the settings. Slices crate from layers in the Export Persona is an example of this. The change may be revised in the future but it's what we are running with for now. If one of the devs wander across this thread they may give a more full explanation to the choice -
Ok you are using Edit> Fill not the fill tool as you mentioned in your original post, that's where the confusion lies. Either way this is the intended behaviour and not a bug so I'm moving this to the feature requests section

Request for the devs after 1.5.1.51
Chris_K replied to verysame's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Hi jorismak This is a setting that can be changed in the Assitant. You can get to it by going to View > Assistant Manager -
I think we are getting confused and referencing two different things here. Presumed from your description you were filling a normal pixel layer but it may be a different type of layer The colour picker you drag from various panels is not the same as selecting a tool which keeps it's active state. This is why it has the drag behaviour and no context toolbar. We included the colour picker tool for that functionality so I don't think this will change any time soon.

This is starting the teeter on the edge of getting off topic -
Polar to Rectangular implementation bug
Chris_K replied to ostonica's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Hi Jim Not every bug will be fixed when a new version comes out but we do have a database to log them all so we are still aware of issue that affect the app. As your other thread is still open and you have commented in that I;m going to close this thread in favour of that one -
This has gone too far from what was the original topic for the thread of forum use. Just to be clear on the original topic, if you find an issue with a beta build then post in the relevant beta section. If it is a regular release build please post your issues in the Bugs on Windows section. This allows us to more easily identify the version of the app you are having the issue with.

[ADW] Long pause?
Chris_K replied to Petar Petrenko's topic in [ARCHIVE] Designer beta on Windows threads
Hi Petar Beta builds are only regular when we are in a beta cycle. After a release it can take a bit of time to produce something with enough features or fixes to warrant the start of a new cycle unless there is an urgent issue to address. There will be a new beta, but only when we feel comfortable to release one. I can only ask that you be patient -
Hi KiboOst Being a pixel layer, this will not live update. you have to select the colour than re-fill the pixels to change the colour like you do in other Photo apps. You can go to Layer > New fill Layer and this will live update as you pick different colours. Which colour picker are you using the one off the colour panel or from the tools toolbar? The tool allows you to pick a colour by just clicking and also contains the the sample point and other setting on the context toolbar. Are you not seeing this?

Hi Morne We don't really have an VR equipment here to look into this, but are you able to send the file you are having issues with in to support@seriflabs with a link to this thread so we can take a look into what might be happening? Cheers

Chris_K replied to DarkClown's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Hi DarkClown There is currently no option to select a different document background colour other than white, or transparent checker-board if you have the transparent background option ticked. Cheers -
Affinity Photo Customer Beta - 1.5.1.51
Chris_K replied to Mark Ingram's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Hi Zwarte If you able to attach the settings folder found in the location in Mark's above post that will go a long way to helping us get this sorted Cheers -
Hi huhbob Thanks for reporting this. This is something we are already aware of and is logged in our system so hopefully we shall get around to sorting it soon Cheers

Hi Robert As Alfred has pointed out, the 'Error' in the rotation is due to the object not being rotated by whole degrees, so the rotation is most likely something like 6.03 degrees as an example, therefore it causes rotation through duplication to be off slightly or at least not what you expect. The solution would be to only allow whole degrees to be used in free rotation. This has been raised a couple of times so I think we should look at sorting something out here

Hi dm1215al The help crash is something we are aware of and should be fixed in the next beta update (51)

Hi Scot It's quite easy to select the text. If you have the move tool you can select the text and then double click to place the carat. Alternatively you can select the text using the move tool then switch to the artistic text tool to place the carat. If you place the carat in the middle or the very end of some text then anything you type will pick up the formatting applied to that text Cheers

My Affinity photo not Responding
Chris_K replied to faris's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Hi All We are working on improving performance in this beta cycle. The last beta was pulled due to some issues, but I believe that did have some performance improvements. It may be worth trying the next beta when it becomes available and seeing if the performance has improved at all
