Opening InDesign files is not something we are able to do for the initial release but we are looking to do it in the future. We can already open AI files if the file is saved with a PDF stream

You do have the options to edit what is shown on this toolbar so you can remove them if it's an issue you feel you face Cheers

This is becaise your placeholder text is considered as one piece so it automatically fills the frame as it's resized. As well as the above suggestion in the preferences dialog, you can also expand the placeholder text into real text by right clicking and selecting expand

Hi beegeeblueboy It is not a rebuild of PagePlus. Its a completely new separate DTP app, whilst they may end up doing the same things, it will not share features with PagePlus. Everything that is in Publisher is chosen because it is felt it is needed in the Affinity range rather than because it was in PP

Hi kironm The app does not import .ppp files. We do not have any facility to marge multiple documents into a book like PagePlus , we also do not have epub export. I can say if it will or wont be added in the future as I don't make those decisions I'm afraid

Hi Xtendo You should be able to click on the smale to download it. The download progress will be shown by a ring a round it. Once the download is completed you should be able to click on the sample again to open it. If this is not happening for you can you describe what you are seeing instead Thanks

I can't give any timelines for this (IDML import, not INDD). It's being worked and will be in an update when it is considered working and relatively stable. But I would be talking more than a few weeks in not months, It's not a simple thing to just implement (edited by Patrick Connor for clarity that this is a statement about IDML and not INDD: 08 July 2019)

Are you referring to the things that let you add elements such as reflections? If so this is not something we are supporting in the Affinity range but I will move it to the feature request section

We need certain elements aero activates for the software to run properly. It's a system requirement for all our aps

You can add outer shadows (or drop shadows as it's also known) using the Layer effects dialog found in the Layer menu

This may seem a bit odd but can you try updating your graphics drivers or uninstalling and reinstalling them. This is an issue we are currently trying to track down in our current software too, so it's not specific to this beta

Using the resource manager is the correct method. If the file is crashing the app would you be able to provide the file so we can investigate what is happening here?
